A truly first-class record and establishing their place art the top-tier of the genre. Its choruses are huge, its lyrics are every bit as chant-able as they are poignant, its energy is relentless. [15 Apr 2017, p.52]

Blending the brash with the heartfelt is something The Smith Street Band have always succeeded in doing. Here they take that to the next level, deftly executing a record that’s as bombastic as we’ve come to expect from the band, and isn’t afraid to wear its heart on its sleeve.

The 12-song collection ensnares listeners with its tight song structures, yelping melodies and energy delivered via middle-of-the-neck pitched guitar riffs.

More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me has its foothold in classic punk and Billy Bragg;s fiery, rambling shout, but is presented in an egalitarian way that any modern punk or emo kid can get behind. [May 2017, p.82]

More Scared of You is a booming, jumbled and explosive work that's the best kind of mess.

I dig the bands overall style, even if this more polished sound is not really my cup of tea when it comes with emo and pop punk when it comes to the indie scene. Plus their sound is super similar to acts like the Front Bottoms. But still this has all the good aspects of emo and pop punk I look for. Earnest singing, rocking instrumentation and composition, and solid lyrics! Full Review »
