    A lot of people have done the same kind of excavation and restoration work he has, but few have done it as memorably. Almost no one has done it with songs as good as these.

    To be fair to him, Morgan Delt is very, very proficient, nailing the '67 sound while injecting a dose of discipline that many imitators miss.

    This is a finely crafted homage to the late ’60s sound. Maybe sometime in the future Delt will really mess with the template, but for now, the devil (and the authenticity) is in the detail.

    The percussion is low in the mix and the bass way up, giving the songs a molten, fluid quality. The parts themselves, however, are guided by an erratic intelligence.
