More of the same, he continues to make us sick with his meaningless lyrics and without a good story to tell. Singing fast and shade women is not a nice thing to do to get attention these days. Completely forgettable songs.

A fusion between the horrorcore style album Relapse and the more modern Kamilaze culminates into this album inspired by Alfred Hitchcock.

Eminem's most cohesive project since MMLP2. The front half of the record features some of Em's best output in a decade including a phenomenal first three tracks. This album clearly potrays the rappers prowess over his lyrical abilities. His mindfull metaphors and clever references makes this album a proper manifestation of higher power at work.

Excellent Album. Classique.

Overall interesting concept with wild and unrelenting production, but overshadowed by the significant decline in vocal and lyrical quality Em has undergone since the 00s.

i love the theme of the album, and the title suits eminem, the content and the music.
i love the homage to alfred hitchcock and the skits with alfred, this really sets the tone.
the songs for me are amazing, front to back, i love lyricism, metaphors, punchlines, double meanings, and this album is full of them. also some highly relatable songs, not to mention the important political topics

Derivative. Boring. Borderline unlistenable at times. There are a couple songs that are alright at best, but for the most part, cringey.

Literally two good songs: Godzilla and Darkness. Every other song has something that ruins it. Whether it’s a terribly corny line, or incredibly unfunny sexism, almost nearly every track has a reason I will never listen to it again. The features are pretty decent, especially Royce. If I could cut all the bad parts out of the songs, this album would bump, but there’s no getting passed someLiterally two good songs: Godzilla and Darkness. With some of the corniest bars in his discography, Eminem fails another attempt at trying to go back to his glory days. While some of the highs of the album are enjoyable and the production is better than his last two projects, the songwriting keeps taking a dive to the point where Eminem thinks rapping fast equals good writing.
Best song on the album: Darkness

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Don’t do what I did and waste an hour of your life. I wanted to like it, I really did. But, this thing sucks. Idk how it’s got a 9.0 user rating right now, but it sucks. I guess it just proves that his stans are insane and don’t understand the difference between rapping fast and rapping well, with substance, meaning, layers, etc. Don’t get it twisted either, I’m not an Em hater. I love MMLP, SSLP, TES, and recovery, relapse, and MMLP2 are decent-good releases as well. But this thing is a 20 pack of ass. I genuinely enjoyed 3/4 songs. I haven’t been this miserable listening through an album since Total Xanarchy (doesn’t mean it’s as bad, but it’s just so long and so boring). Most of the features did pretty well, or at least what you would expect from each of them. But I constantly found myself begging Em not to ruin the rest of the song. He just didn’t mesh well. The songs I saved were mostly saved for either the beat or the feature, with Em just being thrown in there. Without Darkness, which is wonderfully written and beautifully dark and ominous, this would be a 0. Do more of that, and less of trying to be funny with punchlines. The album title is corny, the lines are corny, the songs are corny. Em’s singing on stepdad made me want to crash my car. Horrible lyrics and punchlines for days. As time goes on I find myself hating this album more and more, much like with Revival and Kamikaze. For the record, I would sandwich this one between those two probably. He wants to be as funny as Lil Wayne and as woke as J. Cole but you can’t have it both ways. Some of the worst lyrics:

“Call us Long John Silver's, cause we selfish."

"I'm talking euthanasia, like kids in Taiwan."

“I’m contemplating yelling bombs away on the game like I’m outside an Ariana Grande concert”

“Only way that you're ahead of me is alphabetically
'Cause if you diss me I'm coming after U like the letter V”

“Stripper walk by, I'm like "Goddamn"
She's like "That's harassment," I'm like "Yeah, and?" (Woo)”

“That's the shortest thing for a dress since an addy”

He clearly cares about his output, but “Music To Be Murdered By” is, unfortunately, another mixed bag of tricks, propped up by lyrical acrobatics and underwhelming production.

If they look hard enough, any artist could find criticism of their work online. That’s sort of the curse of the Information Age. But not everyone overreacts quite as much as Eminem does. But if his fears grow tiring, his lyrical ability can still give you something to admire, even if the album is somewhat uneven.

It is not, strictly speaking, a good record—Eminem hasn’t made one of those in a decade—but it boasts enough technical command and generates just enough arresting ideas to hold your attention.
