  • Summary: This is the second album of electronica-meets-indie-pop (falling somewhere between Manitoba and the Postal Service) from Mark Mitchell.

  1. [An] extraordinarily unassuming, gorgeous release.
  2. It’s not often that music truly sounds effortless.
  3. It is certainly fun discovering each new twist and turn on One Way, It’s Every Way, and Clue to Kalo have created a great album to get lost in.
  4. Clue to Kalo may give acts like Postal Service and Her Space Holiday a run for their money.
  5. It's not quite along the same lines as the ultra-drastic change from Start Breaking My Heart to Up In Flames by Manitoba/Caribou, but it's a somewhat similar jump.

His is a gentler, pastoral treat. [Nov 2005, p.111]

A hard one to wrap your head around. [Oct 2005, p.84]

Ignore lazy comparisons to 'folktronica' artists: This spectacular album - surely one of 2005's finest - manages to weave disparate musical strands into a gorgeous, singular, work of pop majesty. Rather than thrusting melodies into your face, these songs insinuate themselves gradually into the psyche and then refuse to let go. The album can be enjoyed on so many levels: the gorgeous texture of the sound; the melodies; the programming; the sampled live instrumentation and the lyrical depth all contribute to an album that just keeps on giving.
