ab76Oct 23, 2001america was a winning choice, but why not tangerine? several songs from the film are omitted and the ost suffers. i guess if you like the same 70s music as cameron crowe you would like this. but i found it very uneven.

The soundtrack was clearly as much a labor of love as the film...

Every track is at least fleetingly familiar, often having that feeling of the B-side that you haven't heard in years.... Still, adding a few hits wouldn't have hurt the soundtrack's shot at longevity...

Most soundtracks are compilations of the obvious... Almost Famous is the grand exception, avoiding easy choices while meticulously re-creating the feeling of being young, awkward, and in love with music in the early '70s.
