BenHOct 18, 2006If you like the song "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" don't buy this album, because unfortunately, that's the only song that is good rock on this album.

SeamusSOct 19, 2006I actually do listen to Justin Timberlake....because it's good. I know that'll cause a riot with all of these great kids that like to feel hip and alone by listening to Jet. No worries. I've dealt with this before. Make something new sounding. Stop repeating

RodrigoAMar 11, 2007How can these guys look at themselves? Everything they have ever made is a blatent ripoff of sixties and sevnties cock rock. I met these guys and Atlanta and they might have been the biggest jerks i have ever met. Their fans wanted autographs and pictures with them, and they turned them all down. Nothing good will ever come from these pretentious group of gap models.

PeterJul 26, 2007I have to admit, though incredibly crude, I cracked up at (and agreed with) the Pitchfork "review" of this album. I only wish Metacritic would throw it into the mix, at a 0, rather than just providing a link to it near the top.

GeorgeC.Feb 7, 2008I liked these guys much better when they were called Iggy and The Stooges.

SommyDec 21, 2006If another person tells me that the reason I don't like Jet is because I just don't like "good ol' fashioned rock music," I'm going to throw up. "Good ol' fashioned rock music" had to earn its status as legitimate music -- this, on the other hand, is nothing more than a copy of a copy of a copy. Context is everything, and Jet is a fake faking a fake.

While occasionally generic, nothing on Shine On is as annoying as their breakthrough single, Are You Gonna Be My Girl.
-
Entertainment WeeklyMostly forgettable. [6 Oct 2006, p.68]

Get Born's follow-up suggests their musical palette is substantially broader than that of their progenitors or than their Cro-Magnon image suggests... [but] the lyrics are agonisingly stupid throughout.
