Dixon and Stein’s music is a chance to revisit it, to envelop ourselves in its arms (or claws), and to bask in the glory of something supremely strange and wonderful.

Volume Two echoes the series' progressively perilous shift toward the supernatural, a track like "Danger Danger" pivoting from the evocation of bike-riding best buds toward the debut of a demoniacal monster in a parallel universe.

In the show’s context, this soundtrack is a solid A. Evocative, thrilling, and dynamic, it’s everything you could possibly want from a TV score. On its own, it’s one of the most refreshingly forward-thinking electronic releases of the year, even if the tracklist could use some cleaning up.

For all the memories Stranger Things and its soundtrack evoke, they've also given us something new worth remembering.

Stripped of the visuals, the seemingly endless succession of minor variations (75 tracks between the two collections) on the same sets of glossy and pleasant synth arpeggios can be at once bitty and overwhelming. [Oct 2016, p.63]

    The other review sucks ass.

Now that that's out of the way, anyone who enjoyed the first season's soundtrack will get more of the same with this one. There are a couple homages to the first season's music, ("Kids 2" being a wonderful sequel to my favorite track from the first season) and it captures the same range of themes as the first one does. There are some gems on here for sure, and the whole album has this ability to transport you back into the series without needing to see anything on your screen. Awesome work/study music too.

This OST is so amazing. It fits the show of the tone so perfectly, and yet fits on it's own.
