Apr 12, 2017The magic moments found on Untouchable speak to Kelly’s swaggering confidence--as if that weren’t perhaps alluded to enough in the album’s very title. As a result, the ambitiousness of his work seems increasingly more destined to join the canon of timeless pop from which The Cairo Gang’s songs find their roots.

Q MagazineApr 12, 2017It's a stimulating and animated listen, his resigned confidences frequently sharpened by dyspeptic wit. [Jun 2017, p.105]
-
Apr 12, 2017The juxtaposition of pretty janglers, moodily melancholy ballads, and tough rockers makes the album the richest Cairo Gang record to date. Credit to Segall for helping out, but Untouchable is Kelly's show and while it won't make anyone forget the Byrds or Love, any song from the album would sound pitch-perfect on a playlist next to either band's best work, and that's really saying something.

Apr 12, 2017The fact that Untouchable gets in and gets out in a little over a half hour adds to its classic rock ’n’ roll charms--the accomplished playing, engaging production and dizzying variety of mid-tempo reveries, adolescent rushes and inconsolable ballads boosting its overall appeal.

MojoApr 25, 2017It's soulful, spiritually questing--pretty much irresistible, too. [Jun 2017, p.88]
-
UncutApr 20, 2017Kelly's craftsmanship ensures Untouchable is a deeply satisfying 32 minutes. [Jun 2017, p.24]

Jul 5, 2017Though solid throughout, without hooks like the best ones on Goes Missing, Untouchable suggests the more random approach suits Kelly and his fans better.
