Trash. After five years of wait this is what we get. No decent lyrics and too many average features (except for SZA and Gunn). The only thing that saves this album is production.

This is the ALBUM OF THE YEAR. Amazing, if I knew this is what we were gonna get, I would have waited for a few years more. Phenomenal work by Travis

I thought I would give it a chance considering all the hype. Oh my god, it confirmed my suspicions that Travis Scott is music for people who don’t know anything about music. Amidst a series of rehashed Kanye West rhythms from 2004, Travis provides some laughable lyrics, autotune a plenty, this does not sound like a person with a creative or a poetic mind and it baffles me that he needed soI thought I would give it a chance considering all the hype. It will no doubt receive “acclaim” from critics given that an established celebrity artist could literally fart into a microphone (which would probably be more euphonic) and receive a score of 85/100 but it is wholly disappointing and painful to listen too. Jacques (Travis) is void of any talent, charm, or humanity. he is rotten to the core and evil to the bone

Scott should consider going back to his previous styles. The volume and general tone of the album is mediocre at best, the lyricism is full of pop culture references that are out of place.

I appreciate Travis going back to producing most of his album as that's what I wished he did for this project, however the result wasn't what I anticipated. After hearing "mafia" back in 2021 I was excited for utopia, that's the travis I wanted to hear, creative, innovative and hungry. The 5 year wait ultimately results in recycled features, lack of song structure/direction, minimalI appreciate Travis going back to producing most of his album as that's what I wished he did for this project, however the result wasn't what I anticipated. After hearing "mafia" back in 2021 I was excited for utopia, that's the travis I wanted to hear, creative, innovative and hungry. The 5 year wait ultimately results in recycled features, lack of song structure/direction, minimal cohesion throughout the project with songs like kpop, modern jam, I know, parasail, skitzo and a few more. A lot of the project sounds like kanye, there's a fine line between influence and copying. Every time the project tries to hold itself together the next song crumbles it, this makes the duration too long to enjoy a thorough re-listen from top to bottom. Worst part is that the album as a whole has very little replay value, I will regularly go back to 3/19 songs....which is not enough of quality amongst the quantity. I really wanted this album to be great but I'll be going back to rodeo & astroworld to enjoy his work. Expand

iv heard his older projects, the F**K was this S**T??? only one song from this album was worth a listen, it was "Meltdown" only because Drake was in it. the rest was too trappy and it was just a bunch meh songs. "tell me you want out of your contract without telling me you want out of your contract." do better next project Travis...this wasnt it.

I was definitely waiting for something waaay better. This album has the Kanye West's Yeezus album style, losing Travis Scott's essence. I waited so much time, that now I feel disappointed.

Nevertheless, while it’s difficult to get past the wording of Travis Scott’s “Astroworld” follow up, the instrumental completeness and overall energy is difficult to forget.

There are experiments with ambience, risky beat switches, theatrical and hook-free pop, and orchestration that Scott has never attempted before. The multi-platinum guest features might set the album up for global conquest, but the most exciting moments come when it sounds like Scott is discovering a new way to push his craft forward.

The beats sometimes bang in typical trap fashion, like on Topia Twins or Meltdown, but are not afraid to go surreal and alien.
