The results may be a bit odd and unfashionable, but one of the great pleasures of Walking Like We Do is that it simply could not have been made by anyone other than The Big Moon.

By considering themes such as love, social injustice and all round perseverance, it is both mature and engaging. The Big Moon are constantly breathing new life into a genre which sometimes runs stale. For that we should be eternally grateful.

Walking Like We Do is expansive lyrically, thematically and sonically, touching on social inequality and frustration with the current political and societal climate.

With strong tunes, great vocals and a spring in their step, The Big Moon are not struggling for a creative spark – far from it.

Jackson is empathetic and spirited as she sings about her fears of being left behind. But the Big Moon’s sharp update ensures they won’t be.

The Big Moon demonstrate both musical and lyrical versatility on Walking Like We Do. It might seem like a predictable move for a guitar band to unleash a keyboard-heavy album number two, but unlike other bands who have deployed this method, they don’t go so far down the wormhole that they lose their original appeal.

No one could ever mistake this band for sonic outliers, even when they hit their distortion pedals, but Walking Like We Do sets the Big Moon up for much bigger, more mainstream things.

I actually prefer this to their much touted debut. "Walking Like We Do" is like a different band, less guitars and more production. Centre popI actually prefer this to their much touted debut. "Walking Like We Do" is like a different band, less guitars and more production. Centre pop rather than indie but in the gloss and expanse is a stronger more substantial end product. The songs are better, more varied and more memorable. Exactly the kind of album the band needed to make. "Your Light" is a highlight. Expand

While there is a little bit of variety between songs on the album, it starts to feel a little repetitive and dull after awhile. The best songsWhile there is a little bit of variety between songs on the album, it starts to feel a little repetitive and dull after awhile. The best songs on the album don't really even stand out or excel for me. i didn't hate the album, it was just a little boring and generic in my opinion. Expand
