Sounds great, but a little superfluous. [Jan 2020, p.28]

There's a renewed freshness and immediacy to several of the tracks, particularly in his laconic vocal delivery. [Dec 2019, p.80]

Spotlights the songs' grit and humanity, albeit still substantially finessed by mixmaster Bob Clearmountain. [Jan 2020, p.90]

Springsteen's earthy phrasing helps ground these songs and makes for an intriguing, occasionally moving complement to the main album.

Springsteen had a great run as a song writer, and rock performer, although this is Rock and Roll, and not Krunk, or Rockstar Games.Springsteen had a great run as a song writer, and rock performer, although this is Rock and Roll, and not Krunk, or Rockstar Games. Unfortunately, Bruce is still a genius, yet the world has moved on to Grand Theft Auto V instead of Born in the USA. This is mainly a compliment to Bruce's past works, or is of interest to evaluate if Bruce went digital in the studio, like it's digital Bruce. The album had good points although it's boring unless you are a fan. Full Review »
