That sense of teetering on the ledge of chaos, of mayhem fighting melody for control, makes Wild Flag a debut for the ages.

Wild Flag isn't just an exciting debut and one of 2011's most dynamic rock records, it proves that a group is truly super when the personalities involved work together and have fun.

Alongside the adolescent energy, they also give vent to decidedly adult passions. [Nov 2011, p.93]

New wave influences are also apparent, specifically when the vocals channel Lene Lovich or Ric Ocasek. These vocal quirks don't always work, and a couple of songs don't hold up to the album's best, but this is a fun introduction nevertheless.

Uhh Uhh Ohh Ohh !!! That's for the all girls band out there creating some claps claps and Ou Hoo with some approximative guitar riffs and some punk mixed drumming for our OMG pleasures sure WTF!!! Expand
  2. Loved SK, also really liked Helium and some of Marys solo efforts. Loud, rocking, drums sound amazing. Everybody shines in their own way. A mix of punk and classic rock stylings w/a blend of Carrie and Marys vocals. Music is uniquely WILD FLAG, yet the familarity of Carrie and Marys singing may harken past projects by default. Expand

This is like 1979 all over again.... in quite a good way. These chicks seem to think guitars and anger are something new and they pretty much make it sound like it is. Expand
  4. Hey, this album rocks. The girls are full of talent and energy and it comes off really great. Just wish the album ran a bit longer. I hope that they are enthused and inspired enough to do it again real soon! Expand
