The highlights are very high indeed, demonstrating just how wrong received wisdom in pop music can be. [Mar 2007, p.64]
  6. And that's the odd thing about this collection: If it provides people with a bridge into appreciating Ono's work, it won't be by making it more accessible.
  7. The only disappointment is it's all probably way too leftfield for generic consumption, meaning most people won't actually get to hear it.
  8. In the end, Yes, I’m a Witch weaves a stronger spell than the typical tribute album that attempts to bring today’s generation into the Know.

This album is an early contender for album of the year, all of the songs here are crackers, most especially tracks with DJ Spooky, The This album is an early contender for album of the year, all of the songs here are crackers, most especially tracks with DJ Spooky, The Flaming Lips and The Sleepy Jackson. Ono well done on this great compilation. For those that don't understand this album, you DON'T understand music, Yoko was 20 years in front of the pack. Good call Jesse her Plastic Ono Band version and Fly are awesome, no grrll power rock without her. Full Review »
