...this forawrd-thinking veteran now sounds comfortable melding his adventurous fret work with studio wizardry. [2/9/01, p.78]

Guitar-heads will automatically buy this, but it also deserves to reach any audiences excited by imaginative music working outside commercial boundaries.
  4. A solid heavyweight of ten skillful tracks, each one more unlike the other in form and feat, yet similar in ample amounts of prowess and poise.
  5. Most of the new disc sounds like noisy grooves in search of songs, and the mechanical accompaniment makes the accomplished jazz-rock fusion of such mid-1970s Beck classics as Blow by Blow and Wired sound downright earthy.

This album rocks harder than anything I've heard in 10 years. Best listened to at maximum volume in a large block V8 Chevy whilst This album rocks harder than anything I've heard in 10 years. Best listened to at maximum volume in a large block V8 Chevy whilst cruising at a high rate of speed. Or after drinkin' a few beers with your mates out in the garage on a Friday night. Full Review »

The only guitarist still striving to go beyond the guitars limitations. Bravo Mr. Beck.

Unbelievable album...forget Hendrix, Clapton, Satriani...Beck is in his own class.
