    ARTPOP was trully ahead of its time, as we can see years later. The use of electronic sounds mixed with rock, hip-hop and pure pop is insane.

    This album has many great songs, but Lady Gaga was a bit late to the game with EDM. By 2013, it was already a saturated music market - lots of great songs here though and recommend a listen to pick those songs you like

Completely aware of what I’m saying, this album has changed my life. It gives me shots of raw art and its representation. I truly can’t understand why people give this album so much hate.     abolutely a future album. i love this it is simply a perfect album. I can't understand why it didn't get a better metascore. The album is probably the best of the decade I haven't heard pop genius like this since MJ or Mad. It's INCREDIBLE!!!

For her part, she failed to coherently and consistently deliver a message of intent for ARTPOP; instead, her descriptions only added fuel to the fire with meme after meme about a 'reverse Warholian' experience that was unrelatable to, well, everyone. In a more human language, ARTPOP wasAn album that could never live up to the hype surrounding it, only some of which Lady Gaga controlled. For her part, she failed to coherently and consistently deliver a message of intent for ARTPOP; instead, her descriptions only added fuel to the fire with meme after meme about a 'reverse Warholian' experience that was unrelatable to, well, everyone. In a more human language, ARTPOP was about elevating the art of music above the celebrity status attached to the persona behind it.

    The marketing and visuals behind Applause fit this narrative perfectly, as she ran through her previous era's iconic looks and slowly dismantled them in the video and performances. The album's opener - Aura - states the album's purpose clearly: "Do you want to see me naked lover? Do you want to peak underneath the cover? Do you want to see the girl who lives behind the aura?" Blunders like allowing Do What U Want, an empowering anthem about taking back control of her own self from the industry in its solo form, to be twisted into an in-your-face explicit duet with R. Kelly, and getting performance artists to overpower the music and rollout of future singles, rerailed any shot ARTPOP had.

    As it has been said, ARTPOP was ahead of it´s time.
    Calling Gaga a ¨tryhard for a topchart pop single¨ or ¨mainstream¨ in ARTPOP is probably one of the funniest thing I´ve heard so far, but clearly critics in 2013 have a lack of proper reviewing ability, especially when trying to compare Gaga´s work with other artists, releasing music back then.

    ARTPOP it's an entire masterpiece, something new about lady gaga, and I found out my love for electronic music. How this album takes us to another dimension and break us free to dance and sing aloud as we want it's magical, gaga just showed us how she can recreate herself and do something big and different but at the same time amazing.

    This is simply Gaga's best album.
    Why? It's one of her most personal work to date. This doesn't explore Stefanie side of Gaga (like Joanne) This explores Lady Gaga mind through over the top psicodelic electronic music. From topics like being misunderstood, Fame struggles, addictions, etc, this album is a deep look to Gaga's world, the artist world. Which is chaotic and deep.

    Es un album bastante bueno, no lo valoraba antes pero le di una segunda oportunidad a Artpop y me temino gustando bastante. Canciones como Applause, G.U.Y y Venus merecen mas reconocimiento, denle una oportunidad al mejor álbum de Gaga.

    she was going through it and i commend her for making this wonderful music in a time of pain and sadness , i truly love these songs and in particular find myself listening to the highs and lows like dope and applause and understanding the journey she went through as this album was being created .     sin duda es mi álbum favorito de lady gaga. la temática artística de venus, esculturas de jeff koons e ilusiones ópticas hace que este álbum tenga sentido. las canciones se sienten cohesivas y no se siente que ninguna sobre ni falte {excepto por algunas canciones con feats que sinceramente encuentro innecesarias). la videografía es magnífica, desafortunadamente este álbum no pasó sin penasin duda es mi álbum favorito de lady gaga. la temática artística de venus, esculturas de jeff koons e ilusiones ópticas hace que este álbum tenga sentido. las canciones se sienten cohesivas y no se siente que ninguna sobre ni falte {excepto por algunas canciones con feats que sinceramente encuentro innecesarias). la videografía es magnífica, desafortunadamente este álbum no pasó sin pena ni gloria por los ojos del público y la crítica debido a la mala organización, promoción y administración que lady gaga y su equipo tuvo en el 2013. mis canciones favoritas son venus, aura, g.u.y., mary jane holland, applause y swine… Expand

    I love it. It is a very conceptual and experimental album, too early for its date, which made it not so well received. From 'Aura' to 'Applause' the sounds are magnificent and very pleasant to listen to, for me it is a masterpiece. My favorite Lady Gaga album.

    While it’s stronger than the messy ‘Born This Way’, Artpop feels little more culture-quaking than a good collection of fun, silly, well-crafted pop songs.
