  1. The debut release from Boston’s Passion Pit is a warm and inviting collection of electro-pop that calls to mind popular acts like Postal Service while still blazing its own path.

This tantalizingly brief EP will please fans if The Blow, MGMT, and Hot Chip. [Fall 2008, p.88]
  3. Angelakos’s Hot Chip-meets-MGMT sound also works on I’ve Got Your Number. His distinctive vocals backfire only on the too-cutesy Cuddle Fuddle.
  4. Overall then, Chunk Of Change is several steps short of greatness, but the debut full-length (due later this year) should be worth a listen.
  5. Michael Angelakos, aka Passion Pit, brings us a temporary electro pop classic.

I honestly think it's nearly flawless. An excellent EP, erhaps one of the best, I've heard rivaling Of Montreal's Icons, Abstract Thee. FullI honestly think it's nearly flawless. An excellent EP, erhaps one of the best, I've heard rivaling Of Montreal's Icons, Abstract Thee. Full of pop-synth power, yet a tangible humanness, it provides a great listen. Nicely layered with several sounds that never appear to be too overbearing. Full Review »
