DanielFeb 4, 2005This is By far Eminem has produced better stuff than encore. I only really enjoyed a few songs on there Like: Toy Soldiers, Mockingbird, Yellow Brick Road and Just Lose It. Eminem is a much better artist than what was shown on this CD. Maybe it has something to do with how busy he

MariahLJan 31, 2005I love Eminem and D12's music but I wish you had an Edited version of all your music
-
-
VeronciaFJan 30, 2005althugh some may say Em is out of ideas and has nothing to rap about, this CD prooves america's shallow oppinion wrong with it's brilliant lyrics and dancable tunes.
-
-
lameshamJan 28, 2005Em don't listen 2 the ones that gave it a low rating ! Haters! On my soul this cd is by far the best cd I have ever listened 2 n all the days of my life. I literally listed 2 it everyday. I hope 2 hear another cd at least as great as this one. much Love mesha~~~!

-
EmmaDJan 28, 2005Most songs may not make any sense to some people but it sounds as though he threw it all together lazily. Whats with the Feats in the soungs such as Obie Trice and D12 ?
-
-
ChrisJan 27, 2005The Beats were lukewarm and the lyrics were average at best. Is this the same Eminem that appered on the Slim Shady LP because that dude should stop buy. There are some good songs on here but there are stupid ones like "Little Toy Soldiers" which is stupidness at it's best. He attacks Ja Rule and at the same time he says you got to stop the hating. He did okay but come on.
-
-
LauraHJan 26, 2005He is clearly one of the best rappers ever and is so talented. I loved his album. He is so clever and every word written has thought and meaning behind it. Unconventional and that's why I gotta love him!

OliverKJan 19, 2005This new CD of his is just a new beginning. He makes 30 million dollars every cd he sells. He makes sick ass beats and sick ass lyrics thats all that matters.
-
-
JasonDJan 16, 2005He is my idol and speaks his mind in every song.
-
-
BryantJJan 13, 2005This by far is Eminem's worst CD, but i still love it. I'm not such a big fan of his trying to be funny in his songs. I miss more of his angry songs. I believe there's no other better song then "The Way I Am". Even so, the CD has some catchy beats to it. I like every song on the CD except for crazy in love and ass like that.
-
-
AndrewCJan 13, 2005Clearly not his best work and it shows through more than half the songs. Encore got a lot of hype and it really didnt deliver the punch Em usually brings. I threw my downloaded copy away. It shows he put more time into his 2pac (yet another rebirth) album than his own and the 2pac album isnt even that great using such artist as Obie Trice and D-12. Enough is enough, stop the 2pac albums already.

DavidAJan 8, 2005I've always been an Eminem fan, this is one of his best albums and its just what I expected from him, however it was not as good as "The Eminem Show."

lexysugaDec 29, 2004This Cd is amazing, EVery single song. "Spend Some Time" keeps replaying even in my dreams, I love eminem so much. He did it again, this is absolutly wonderful

-
LEXYE.Dec 29, 2004Everytime I turn this cd on I get shivers...it's that good. EVen in my dreams i can still here "Spend Some Time", and his songs have touched me so deeply that I've cried twice. He is amazing, I have all of his work. And this definately shows he didn't stop trying. In fact, he only got better. I love you eminem

jessicasDec 26, 2004i love em. and i think what he is saying needs to be listen to a lot louder
-
-
MarshalMathersDec 26, 2004This CD had alot more meaning than everybody thinks. Take a couple hours to just listen to the lyrics. You'll then figure out why i gave this CD a rating of 10

-
EminemfanDec 26, 2004this is a great album, i have all of his albums and i'm only 13 years old. I think that eNcore is the best yet. He speeks from the heart, i like all the songs, and anyone else who's slagging them off should try and do better! Eminem is great, his song mockingbird is my favourite, it proves that he doesn't just rap/sing about violence, people he doesn't like, and sex.

MercedesCDec 21, 2004This was an awsome CD, not as brutal as his past ones, and seems to have more emotion in it then and other. But I must say that when I first listend to 'Just loose it' I was disapointed.. But after hearing the other songs, it was like i was listening to him again. This isn't his best CD, but it definetly shows up other CD's that are considered 'hot' today..

-
LeighMDec 17, 2004An Excellent CD. If you like Eminem, you will love this CD!
-
-
BenNDec 16, 2004This Cd has its pros and cons. Some of the songs on the CD are Eminems best and the beats by Dre. are good but thats only for three or four songs. The other 16-17 songs are awful, half trialed by Eminem.

AaronADec 13, 2004at first the songs on encore sounded samey and without any flare but give this album a second listen and everything just clicks, all these songs are ace especially puke, my first single and my fave 'crazy in love' dont listen to the dissers on here just buy this album and make up your own mind
-
-
KimADec 12, 2004I will admit that at first, I wasn't sure about this album but after listening to the lyrics I found that there was more meaning in his words besides the every-other- swear-word pattern approach he usually takes. This album is something that I can relate to and I felt he did excellent work getting his message accross. I love it.
-
-
ShawnJDec 10, 2004Eminem sounds careless on this album. He takes his talent and fame for granted now. It is like he put this album out just because of popular demand, not because he wanted to put another masterpiece under his belt. Em, don't make music if you don't want to because thats how you are rapping on this album. The beats are mediocre also. Dre could have been more impressive.
-
-
LPayneDec 8, 2004This album is full of the best of eminem and then some teeny-bopper nothing songs. I give it a 7.
-

MCReyesDec 7, 2004One of the greatest lyricists of all time has officially turned himself into the single worst lyricist of all time. Encore is the perfect example of an extrodinary artist gone bad due to wanting to fit in with fellow rappers and following their trends. This album is absolute garbage.
-
-
AnthonyDec 5, 2004Excellent ! Just because it is different does not mean it sucks, plus it shows he is well rounded. It is still better then most rap albums. If em wanted to make a classic he would have done so.
-
-
markaDec 4, 2004It's not as bad as other people think but I was disappointed in it. It does have some good tracks but there's nothing that really stands out on this record. I like the Eminem Show and The Marshall Maters LP a lot better.

arnesrDec 1, 2004this cd is a little it more sentimental then the other ones. Songs like, like toy slodiers, mockingbird, spend some time. we like seen that part of eminem. he is also a genus because of the ryhms.

-
Scout*Nov 26, 2004Since when is a white guy dressing up like Madonna and Michael Jackson considered rap. Its nothing but rhyming words mixed in with the most annoying sound I have ever heard. Why was this made? What idiot actually allowed this to be made? I can't wait for the day when some new rapper comes around and makes Eminem the focus of his parodies. That will be funny.
-
-
StevenTNov 26, 2004Eminem's primary appeal has always been to teen girls who believe he is cute and teen boys who think he is boss gangsta. Em still has the looks, but his once cutting edge rhymes are now tired, weak fare compared to his contemporaries.

DanSNov 16, 2004Album sounds different than usual and it didnt sound all that appealing at first listen, but than after few more listens it grew on me. Its different but its still eminem, maybe more matured but still awesome lyricist. Notable Masterpiece song is Mocking Bird

AlanRNov 16, 2004This is the same CD he's already released 3 times.
-
-
JosephANov 15, 2004I think some of this album really shines. In some places its like hes holding on to his past, but there are moments that do show alot of growth. To me is seems very transitional. I think we're gonna get something really different and great on his next effort. I think what makes this disappointing is that most people thought we would get that "something different" this time around.
-
-
kmmarascoNov 15, 2004ugh. that's all. ugh. uninspired, sophomoric, and fails to push the envelope anywhere near the edge. maybe three decent tracks on this whole album, and the dr.dre produced beats sound monotonous and drab. makes a great coaster for your ice cold beverage.
-
-
CharlieLNNov 15, 2004I loved this CD. But still, not up to level of the Marshall Mathers LP or Em Show. i didnt really like all the goofy songs. i think everyone will rag on him so much his next cd will be angry- like mmlp, maybe. Anyways- in order, the best songs are: like toy soldiers, mockingbird, love you more, never enough(nate has a great hook), crazy in love, and encore.

BitBurnNov 15, 2004All this guy does is bitch bitch bitch and once again "Encore" is all about some more bitchin'!! This time it's annoying though. Same ol' recipe. EM is running out of inspiration and he's tired. However, production is very good and and make sure you have a good pair of sub-woofer ;-)
-
-
CourtneyMNov 15, 2004I think this cd is great! I can't compare any of his albums to one another because they are all great in their own ways, just like encore is. #14 is hilarious if u listen to his verses.Listen to the cd one more time if you doubt it.

finfroskNov 14, 2004When I saw the reviews I was worried, but listening to this album I can safely say the critics are idiots, they are wrong, the have no clue. It's one of his best albums. Really. Eminem is a genius, but geniuses are often misunderstood.
-
-
JayNov 14, 2004It's far and away Eminem's worst studio effort to date, but that probably isn't going to dissuade his more passionate fans. Surely this album will sell a few million copies, but at the cost of what? He could have upgraded the Slim Shady persona to fit his thirties, and make a truly classic album, but he tried to bring back the past, making for a sub-par release.

trevorNov 13, 2004Not at all up to par for em, but still a decent album. Gets better after a few listens, but still comes off as a disappointment when compared to his previous works. Definately not as good as i had hoped...

Awards & Rankings
-
"Encore" is almost willfully uneven: it includes some of the most exhilarating songs Eminem has ever recorded, alongside some of the most inert. [15 Nov 2004]
-
For the most part, Encore's strained, vaguely sad, regressive wackiness makes a lucid and compelling argument that Eminem should retire Slim Shady and let the real, serious Marshall Mathers stand up and be heard.
-
Encore is a fourth fascinating record from Eminem, but it's also easily his weakest and, in many ways, tamest album to date.
