    Ben Harper returns with his follow up to 2009's blues-heavy "White Lies for Dark Times" which he did with his new band Relentless7. Now he's back and he brought a Beatle with him. Give till it's Gone is nearly just as great as "White Lies" focusing more on destructive blues than quiet folk tunes.     He might lack a sense of direction personally (at least right now), but it's this lack of clarity that has produced a very focused record.

    Harper is in top form, crafting songs that succeed lyrically and musically, capturing much of the blues-driven energy of White Lies while mixing in a delicate simplicity that adds a layer of depth to the bluesman's latest effort.
