    Harper is in top form, crafting songs that succeed lyrically and musically, capturing much of the blues-driven energy of White Lies while mixing in a delicate simplicity that adds a layer of depth to the bluesman's latest effort.

    Ben Harper returns with his follow up to 2009's blues-heavy "White Lies for Dark Times" which he did with his new band Relentless7. Give till it's Gone is nearly just as great as "White Lies" focusing more on destructive blues than quiet folk tunes. Ringo Starr helps him out with two tracks, including a great jam called "get here from there" He rocks out on "Rock N Roll is Free" It's not, it costs money. But for Harper, every penny is worth it.
