  • Summary: If the concept of "The Beatles, remixed" saddens you, know that original Beatles producer George Martin was at the helm for this project, which serves as the soundtrack to the Vegas-based Cirque du Soleil show of the same name. The 26 mashed-up tracks here were augmented with additional instrumentation and vocals performed by The Beatles themselves, culled from hours of original demo and master tapes, with pieces of 130 songs ultimately represented in some form. Stimulating, entertaining and moving. You'll listen to it more than you have Anthology, I promise. [Dec 2006, p.100]
  2. You could figure it as a sop to today's interactive mash-up culture. Or you could say it's just extending the medley-ish, segue-happy ethos of Abbey Road to the band's entire catalog. Really, it's both, and it's bliss.
  3. It's a dazzling, expansive experience that ranks among the year's best.
  4. The album holds some pleasant surprises.
  5. Love could only have been made by someone who knew this music inside out, who has nurtured, cherished and polished it since the day it was composed, who saw its potential in an era when pushing rock'n'roll past it boundaries was a new art form.
  6. The loveliness comes at a predictable cost in breakaway energy. [30 Nov 2006, p.112]
  7. 'Love' is trying to be all things to all people and suffers for its lack of ruthlessness and direction.

Me, being a huge Beatles fanatic, received this from a family member having heard good things about it. I turn the volume up, and... Oh my god. It's so beautiful! This album designed for "The Love Show" (The Beatles Cirque De Soleil) is a wonderful, beautifully crafted remix album of the world's greatest band ever. Combing different tracks and never before heard recordings into a wonderful album, that will surely delight any Beatles fans. Examples include the wonderful alternate version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", setting a more relaxing feel and sadder tone, it just wants to make you tear up (In both ways). Indeed, it is a great album, and it receives an outstanding 10 from me. Expand

I thought George Martin did an exceptional job on this album. You're taking timeless music and tweaking it brilliantly. The sting instruments and the fact that he brough out the "back" instruments is just awesome. It's almost as if the stage would have the string instruments and drummer in the front and singer/guitarist in the back. What a concept. Well done. I will listen for years to come. Expand

Love is a brilliant album which takes the classic Beatles tracks and make them gel into a seamless flow of music. New energy is brought to old tracks without tampering with what made them so exceptional in the first place. When you listen to it you are reminded of just how diverse and inventive the Beatles really were. Expand

Must be considered as a soundtrack to a stage show and on its own, this edible mash-up succeeds for me solely on is capacity to pull heartstrings for I was weaned on their music. Nice crisp sound that has me salivating for more and the game that is 'spot the song' is agreeable but then again; it's not a gimmick but something I shall not listen to as often as the two other remastered works. you mean this was the same George Martin that helped produce the "White Album", Magical Mystery Tour", .... Why, in Gawds' name has so many tracks on this take been so brutally chopped into a SpeedTracks crash site. ?!!! Do NOT BUY this- although I must say the one saving grace was that It was on sale at Best Buy for 1/3rd off. -so now I know why. 'cause I didn't really listen to it before I bought it did I ? Sorry George, I know its not you, its the Bush's in the Music Industry today. -tears for fears here. -Can someone just package the real original Bealtes in a 30 CD set or whatever ? ya, ok maybe this isn't so bad but do the above and I will gladly pay for the whole and original skebang. -or, you're just going to force me to download them.
