JonMJun 6, 2007Complete and total garbage. It is nothing but Emo trash. The whole album is a total rip-off, especially the political remarks. Wow, maybe they should tour with System of a Down and spew that cliche, mindless garbage together. They are just sell-outs to the Emo and anti-war cultures. Total disappointment.

WootforAlternative!Jul 29, 2007A great album! I do not see what's wrong with it. Sure, unlike the previous two albums, some tracks are bad (Shadow of the Day, In Between and Little Things Give You Away) but the reast are pure gold. Given Up and No More Sorrow are two of their best songs ever. While I prefer the other two albums to this, this is till aowrthy purchase if you're an LP fan

EricC.Aug 14, 2007Heard the whole thing with my brother in his car. God awful. It's like all they are trying to do is end up in a soundtrack for a Michael Bay movie (which they did). One horrible rock ballad after another. They try so hard to be thoughtful and emotional, but ends up being a sob session for guys who probably realize they suck, and just want someone, anyone, so like them.

YashR.Aug 17, 2007This album is not really as bad as ppl reckon it is... I really enjoyed it.. Really shows the band's maturity.I'm really happy they are reducing the rap.

-
mikebAug 2, 2007I think LP's new album is more creative than thier last, seeing that they added a few songs that were slower and some more political, but they strayed to far from thier roots to far...its an ok album

sarisc.Aug 2, 2007progression. reinvention. evolution. linkin park is unessential. this album is imitation. it is filth that dulls the minds of the many who listen to it. we as a human race must evolve past this garbage. or remain stupid. and continue to de-evolve.

-
SamS.Aug 25, 2007This is a fantastic piece of work by Linkin Park, people who are slamming the album need to wake up, the guys have done fantastic and have already sold a load of these albums showing its popularity!
-
-
InsertNameHereAug 4, 2007The album is very different from the previous albums and a lot of the songs are...quieter, not what I expected from a new Linkin Park album and the first time I listened to it I was disgusted at the vast majority of the CD, but No More Sorrow, What I've Done, Given Up, and Bleed It Out give an otherwise horrible album some life.

JoshA.Sep 7, 2007This is possibly the best CD Linkin Park has ever done. Forget those people who hated it, if you want to either rock out or calm down and sleep, then Minutes to Midnight is the right choice for you. "What I've Done" was a success, so that means the album is a very huge success. Don't waste your time thinking about it, just buy it! You'll thank me later.

-
DaveSep 8, 2007It's different but not bad. It's softer and slower than previous releases but if you're a pretty open-minded music fan, you'd like this album.

-
jakeb.Jan 5, 2008this is one of the best cds that i've ever heard or owned on a scale to 10 every one of these songs are at least a seven out of ten. The lyrics are better than on other albums and i love the vocals

WillA.Jan 7, 2008i love this album think of it this way they are are making themselves a rememberable band with this you see i love their old stuff but face it they would eventually disapper from the spotline with that this way they can do stuff that will keep them famous like metallica but yes they didnt have some of the best stuff they couldve done but man bleed it outr and given up are alsome!!!

fsl_heroMay 30, 2008Don't listen to the HATERS here - this is still your LP, just a more mature sound, which I personally like. There are always a few haters for something good, so don't just listen to the negativity. Listen to the album yourself and judge.

-
joelWJun 11, 2008Soooo disappointing! i wanted a album just like meteora or hybrid theory, something to rock out to. they dropped the rapper for the most part, put way less special effects in there, and put in enough ballods to make anyone bored to death. i hope that they can bring back the fire of there old albums in their next album.

TimD.Dec 2, 2007Two points for the two songs that sound like what Linkin Park fans actually want, (notably the two released singles) The rest of the points are lost to the Nickleback/Limp Biskit mashups that make up the rest of the songs (notably, the ones NOT released as the singles...) The new sound is weak, and the proof is in how they hide it with the two "old style" singles.

TylerMay 12, 2007Trash. But what did you expect?
-
-
v1nc3May 13, 2007I think the CD is good, the rapping from Mike Shinoda is missed a lot in the album. Making this LP album cliche and similar to the other rock bands out there.

ScottTMay 15, 2007What is going on? I know bands progress and people grow up, but this is ridiculous. The first tune sounds like something a high school band put together in their garage. I have nothing against them taking steps forward and chaning who they are, but this is a drastic, drastic step in a weird direction. You will not get rocked out, just lulled to sleep to a place of emo-wannabe dreams
-
-
nicbMay 15, 2007I believe that linkin park has left their hybrid theory and meteora fans behind in alienation. Their new cd is weak and should only be heard in elevators. I only hope that the pleas of the LPU nation will be heard. I miss my old linkin park.
-
-
KeoTMay 15, 2007Two good songs on it. The rest just plain stink. At least I have something to throw at my cat now. They could have rocked without going boring.
-
-
mikemMay 15, 2007rip linkin park. This is soft mellow pop/soft rock. Everything that made lp great is now gone to mainstream garbage that you hear every day on the radio. R.I.P. - you guys were the best
-
-
CJBMay 15, 2007I thought this album was really a leap forward for LP and shows how they're willing to redefine their style for future albums.
-
-
MattFMay 15, 2007I waited a long time for this album and i just don't know what happened. "What i've done was amazing and after hearing the sinlge on the radio i was expecting new but great things. This was not what i expected. Its like re-animation all over again please no more.

JosephWMay 15, 2007Linkin Park have redefined themselves in a much more melodic and mature way. Rick Rubin has managed to capture the 'raw' sound of LP on this CD, and has allowed LP to step up to a higher level.

-
POMay 16, 2007I think it's great! It really curesl! I'm glad they are not afraid to do the things the way they like it and the way they think everything should be. And I'm glad they decided to change their style. Because in old style they have already made there best album and it is Hybryd Theory

MaxMay 16, 2007I just don't know what happens!??! It's not Likin Park anymore, I almost though it was U2 sometimes...Very bad, what can I say more...The single wasn't that bad but the rest of the album is just terrible, there are maybe 2 or maximum 3 highlights and that's it, the rest of the album is just good for garbage...Sorry guys, Meteora was way much better!
-
-
BitBurnMay 17, 2007Linkin Park are getting older and you can hear that everywhere on the album, so that is good cuz you can't stop natural evolution although there
-
-
ronaldWMay 17, 2007they have coulple of songs that were questionable but the music is great i love their new sound if they kept on with nu-metal then the band would be shooting themselves in the foot(they wouldnt be getting that many sells)

RamzeezeBlujayMay 17, 2007I loved Hybrid Theory and Meteora but this cd is quite different. i love linkin park but this cd is actually dissapointing. I had high hopes because i kind of like "What I've Done" and i listened to some of the other songs im like "what the heck is this?" it was linkin park. they should forget the new stuff and go back to the rap metal.

JosephAMay 18, 2007I think these guys worked really hard to make this album and I think it came out great. It's unfortunate that such negativity is being thrown their way because in the end, after gettting past the new direction/sound, and not comparing MTM to HT & M, the album sounds really good, and it's got some seriously excellent melodies. I love it.

-
CrisMay 18, 2007Give me a break. Usually first impressions and guess are correct. So, if you had to play it over and over again to like it, go back to your first time listening to it, when you said, "Man, this sucks."

-
JenniferMMay 22, 2007This CD is awesome! Who cares if it is different from their other albums? If you people would actually give it a chance instead of complaining about how LP is "selling out" by changing their music style, you'd be able to see how awesome Minutes to Midnight really is.

JoeAMay 27, 2007Linkin Park has improved the lyrical and thematic elements on their music, but in their effort to craft something beyond their nu-metal niche they have lost the excitement and energy that mad e their previous studio albums so much fun. The album is alright, but most Linkin Park fans will be (and, as far as I've seen, are) disappointed.
-
-
LaurenBMay 28, 2007i love linkin park
-
-
FrederickSMay 29, 2007This could have been a lot better. Only a few good tracks. It seems like they didn't know how to maintain a style in any particular track, either.. It changed too often. Seemed a little unstable, but worth a few listens... and that's it.

-
DavidC.Aug 11, 2007This is far from crap. I can see why most people are calling it that but you gotta understand that Linkin Park can't put out yet another album similar to Hybrid Theory. They decided to take a different route and came out with this. This album is indeed too soft for a lot of the older fanbase to listen to but if you can get past that, this is a very enjoyable record.
-
-
JamesC.Aug 13, 2007Chester Bennington tries to break away from being Shinoda's sidekick, and fails miserably. The album is trash, i'm glad I didn't buy it the first day it came out, because that'd be one of the most expensive coasters i've ever bought. Next time i'm craving some Linkin Park, i'll queue up "The Rising Tied".

-
DarnellSep 13, 2007It's a great album and it's not an emo album. Linkin Park actually got LESS emotional with their music. The lyrics have different layers of meanings. Some of it is POLITICAL. (i.e. "No More Sorrow", "Little Things Give You Away", etc)

The California rap-rockers are stymied by their decision to stay roughly within the shrieky boundaries of their genre (albeit with less emphasis on the rap).
-
Amid the stabs at growth, every new effect sounds borrowed.

As you might imagine, the band’s emo makeover doesn’t always go smoothly.
