    One word to describe this album is charming. Like cheesy pick-up lines when you're drunk like the bars on a Wednesday night. Significant lack of lyrical substance and the instrumentals are not innovative or pulse inducing. Sadly, this is the second best country album I've heard this year.

    Poor year for country music so far.

    More than just asserting his countryness, Moonshine in the Trunk seems like an effort to re-assert his Paisley-ness, to get back to the sort of songs that first got him commercial attention.
