A bunch of bad production, and lyrics oozing of insecurities when the main topics are “i’m the queen, how down, no other woman is as good as me and they will never be me”.

This album sucks. All of her songs sound like she’s trying to hard. There is no sense of cohesion to the album. Its a mess and I expect more from someone so seasoned..

This album is a hot mess. While maybe there are 3 good songs , the overall experience was lackluster. Many filler songs and doesn’t have a lot of substance. Definitely a step down from her previous albums. Disappointed...

BEST ALBUM I LISTENED TO IN YEARS!!! Once I played Queen, the birds started chirping again, and I felt a sense of relief. Nicki Minaj is the queen of rap!

Nicki Minaj delivers no catchy songs on her recent album, discussing the same topics over and over again. The more she talks about this, the more it gets stale

She's finally realized and understood what it takes to make a great rap album: embracing rap as a genre.

Nicki's prior albums were a seesaw game of playing with the idea of rapping but keeping her feet in R&B, Pop, Electronic, and other water she wasn't fit to swim in. Water she felt unnatural in. Queen is unapologetically embracing the roots of rap with hard-hitting beats and boom bap

Nicki's prior albums were a seesaw game of playing with the idea of rapping but keeping her feet in R&B, Pop, Electronic, and other water she wasn't fit to swim in. Water she felt unnatural in. Queen is unapologetically embracing the roots of rap with hard-hitting beats and boom bap drums, complete with just the right amount of soft singing that Nicki is actually good at (rather than going hard for some pseudo-singer track full of autotune and shaky pitch) and some varied flavor like reggae, which Nicki is very familiar with.

People will tell you this album is overrated. They'll write it off because it's easy to. Because for a long time Nicki Minaj was a mainstream rapper who was getting by on everything BUT rapping. But, and this is the first time I've ever felt this way, Nicki Minaj has made a great album. One worth listening to. One worth being open-minded with and giving a try. Because right now, this is one of the best rap albums of 2018, and it's probably going to stay that way when the year is over.

    The wait worth.
This is an excellent album, great and smart lyrics, great beats. And very well chosen collaborators.
It has different flavors but always keeps the greatness and the well done work. Not looking just for catchy songs, it is looking for excellence. And it´s all made by a woman that in a "Men world". This is a potential Grammy award winner.

Nicki leads the pack so her back's to them, and track 'Barbie Dreams' is confirmation of this. "Queen" is Nicki's most cohesive body of work to date and possibly even her best. The production on this album definitely shines, but not as much as her lyrical wordplay and flow. This album as a whole embodies Nicki as an artist, giving you the best from all of her previous bodies of work all wrapped into one streamlined package. It has the emotional depth of 2014's "The Pinkprint", the sporadic eccentric energy from "Roman Reloaded" and the hunger for greatness from her debut studio album "Pink Friday". Minaj showcases her ability and talent at its best here, making sure everyone knows she's not going anywhere anytime soon. With "Queen" Nicki has officially cemented her place in hip-hop history as the rap game's leading lady. The album itself transcends beyond genre, it's hip-hop, but accessible hip-hop. A more experimental hip-hop than what is playing on the radio nowadays or that coming from her peers. Overall, Nicki delivered a very strong album, perhaps her strongest and one that will be one of her most memorable for years to come. When you think about Nicki Minaj a few decades from now, this album will be a standout in her discography. Expand

The only people spamming great reviews are her stans or Cardi haters. There is nothing here that proves that she is a "Queen" but it's not bad. The second half of the album is better than the first half by far and it surprised me because I thought the album was straight trash at first. The album doesn't really build upon anything that was already in place but it does a good job of perfecting many different sounds and hip hop trends. 19 songs is entirely too long and rap artists need to stop doing that. It's a pathetic attempt at making more sales and making more money. She easily could've taken 10-13 songs from the album she released and had a really dope project. It's not really unlistenable at many parts but there are cringe worthy moments especially towards the beginning (Eminem trash verse is one of them). The pop moments towards the end are GREAT and it's reflective of the old Nicki. Don't expect this album to blow you away but it's a decent listen that her fans will enjoy.

Bottom line: It's not dumpster can but it's just not that good.

It's not a secret Nicki is a woman of strong personality, which is reflected in the album and that's great! There are tracks that have great production which outshines the fluent energy on Minaj's rapping delivery but some other tracks where these things are not exactly strong uncover the lack of deepness in the whole album.

Nel complesso mi è piaciuto molto, soprattutto "Come See About Me", dove Nicki utilizza la sua voce in un modo fantastico. Alcune tracce un pò troppo lunghe, ma ci sta. Il suo miglior album però per me resta The Pinkprint

Uninspired standard Nicki fare. One wonders how long she can continue to call herself queen if her music sounds less supreme with each new release.

Now... when this album first came out, I was sceptical and did not enjoy it, hence giving is a 2 rating. However, five year later and this album has aged like fine wine. Nicki's verses are so clever yet sharp. There is a reason why she has had so much longevity in her career. Nicki we love you lyricism and unapologetic confidence that you give in your songs!

    Nicki came back to show the real rap;

The rhyming game, and the intelligence in word choice show that Nicki Minaj really should be where she is now. On the throne

Queen is the best of all the albums by Minaj. Although not as catchy as the others, the album consists of some decent lyrics and the signature energy Minaj withholds. The only problems are the excessive uses of autotune and bland production and uninteresting features.
Best tracks: Majesty, Rich Sex, Hard White, Bed, Chun-Li, LLC, Good Form, Come See About Me
    Worst tracks: Thought I Knew

On Queen, Nicki spends a lot of time ordering beheadings--which are fun, but get old quick--rather than showing us why she is and should be queen. Here's to hoping the next album gives us a more earnest, more raw glimpse of the head that wears the crown.

When Minaj leans into her untouchable strengths as a rapper, things get really exciting and an album of tracks as strong as "LLC" or "Barbie Dreams" would be one for the books. As it stands, however, Queen is another chapter of Minaj's good but largely meandering and inconsistent full-length album output.

Queen's title implies it's meant to function as a coronation for one of the biggest rappers ever, but it's more the sound of Minaj fighting to keep that crown on her head.
