For the most part, the band has deftly added its own experiences and experience to original template of its debut, and comes out gleaming in the other end. [No. 101, p.61]

Jinx may not be as immediately jarring and respectable as their debut, but it certainly keeps the ball rolling.

Whereas Sports raged, Jinx is at once soaring and uplifting.

Granted, as they’ve smoothed out the rough edges a bit, some of the rugged immediacy has been lost, but they’ve more than make up for it in a newfound sense of lively rhythmic interaction.

'Jinx' sounds like the party that doesn't stop. There is enough here to convince any naysayers that this band has what it takes to be more noticed. The album often lacks focus and doesn't seem able to decide whether or not it's dance or punk, and without quite being able to be the next LCD Soundsystem, they settle for second best. But this is a damn catchy offering and I look forward to hearing more from them. Expand
