It's the most fabulous album in the 21 century (with meteora of course!!), the perfect hard rock songs within all somethings that give to you the pleasure to song with him.

Linkin Park's worst album by far. An unholy mess of bad singing and messed up songwrting with a few good beats, but not many.

What the fuck is this!? This was my birthday present. and because having your arms broken during my birthday just wasn't enough i had to endure this. I put a 5 because its only good for slow songs.

I never liked Linkin Park. I didn't like them when they were young, filled with manufactured adolescent rage, and just being loud for the sake of being loud. I don't like them now that they're trying to be sensitive and thoughtful. I'm not even into U2 or Coldplay, two of the bands they're obviously aping. So who are they trying to appeal to here? The same cannot however be said for the rest of the album. Other than the aforementioned songs the album is practically all filler. In Between is a dull monotone song with Shinda on vocals, Valentines Day is the most emo "kill yourself to" song I've ever heard, and Shadow of the Day sounds like the band is trying to appeal to high school teenage girls. I wouldn't necessarily say pass on the album as some of the songs are very good, but definitely consider getting the "good" songs off of iTunes or something and skip over the filler. Expand

To be honest I've kinda Given Up on Linkin Park. It's not they they constantly produce terrible music; it's the fact they have music has kinda altered to a point that makes me wish the band would Wake up and realize their newer sound isn't working. So this begs the question at what point in time has the mighty Linkin Park fallen, well the answer has finally come clear to me now. May 15,To be honest I've kinda Given Up on Linkin Park. So this begs the question at what point in time has the mighty Linkin Park fallen, well the answer has finally come clear to me now. May 15, 2007. This album is terrible for a variety of reason and could quite possibly be their worst. To start with the lyrics are so depressing it's boarder line comical, but I've hated the songs on this album before analyzing the lyrics. The sound is stuck In Between annoying screaming and dull emo. It's sounds like the studio wanted them to rush out another album and Linkin Park decided to take their anger and Bleed It Out onto the songs giving no care as to how that will turn out. Shadow Of The Day is probably the only worthwhile song on this track to listen to, so if you are a Linkin Park fan do yourself a favor and Leave Out All The Rest. What I've Done is mediocre even if it did become popular thanks to Transformers. Expand

The singles from this album are pretty good, whille less amazing than their previous releases. Among the other tracks, some tracks are ok, but Hands Held High, In between are bad. I think they started to produce mediocre track right from this album.

It's a mixed bag. A few songs, like What I've Done, Bleed It Out, Leave Out All The Rest, and Given Up, are above-average tracks definitely worth listening to. But other songs aren't so great.

But it seems all gone with MtM. Some of the songs are ok, they are radio-friendly enough for sure, but somehow the magic is gone. There is nothing left making me dance, the hard beats are mostly gone, replaced by pop-ish sounds which sound like they were made to please the biggest possible amount of people. I know that I am doing injustice to a good band which has tried reinventing itself and its really sad because they are all such talents in their individual roles, but despite all this the album just seems to fall short in every possible way compared to their older ones. It's true that I may be biased, but the best songs on Minutes to Midnight are the ones where Linkin Park push themselves to make sonically-heavy songs that break barriers. "Given Up", for example, is intense and features an amazing vocal performance by Bennington, but tracks like "Hands Held High" feel cathartic.

I remember being so excited for this album. LP was my favorite band around 2000-2005. Their music just spoke to me. It broke so much new ground and it was packed with soul. Just empty, bland, generic pop-rock. It has no soul or artistic vision whatsoever. But they managed to fool the people dumb enough to go watch Transformers. Even though I can't really enjoy any song off of this album, I can still GET the appeal of songs like "Given Up", "Bleed It Out" and "What I've Done", but everything else is just GOD AWFUL. the bands most intimate album, with touches of Metal Rock and Pop this is an album everyone can relate, some songs are hauntingly sad, the vast majority of the songs are good but most don't add up in a consistent listen, not their greatest but for sure, its no a miss.

Pontos Altos: In Pieces, Shadow Of The Day, The Litthe Things Give You Away
Pontos Baixos: Given Up, Wake, Bleed It Out

Overall a decent album but it has its share of flaws. There are times when the album feels inconsistent and some of the songs are... corny, forgettable or both. Don't get me wrong, lyrically wise is not bad but the sounds and overall tone feels unispired and boring, and the fact that the song comes right after What I've Done, it's just a dissapointed transition given the high stakes WID gave to the album. Then again, the album has its share of highlights, some which are even some of my favorite songs of LP's entire discography. Given Up is raw, exciting and sounds overall kickass, What I've Done is lyrically great and very climatic and fun sound wise, and In Pieces has a great guitar solo with some powerful instrumentals. This album is a sleeper hit, as you compare it to Living Things and Recharged. By far this is a perfect Alt Rock Linkin Park ever made, they shift from Nu Metal to Alt Rock to Electronic Rock to Electro House and going back to Nu Metal/Alt Metal realm in Hunting Party. By far in retrospect this is a good album.

It’s a weird listen, this one, and a disappointing one, because the band could’ve utilised the tamer, more accessible sound for better purposes. It’s not all bad, but it usually just ‘OK’ songs that, with a week more of ideas, would’ve sounded pretty good. The first half is slightly better, as it harkens to the band’s more rough sound, but even there, songs are pretty uninteresting. It’s a weird listen, this one, and a disappointing one, because the band could’ve utilised the tamer, more accessible sound for better purposes. This is not their best album, I agree, but I like it the same.
Linkin Park shows that they can make mature and deep songs such as What I've Done, Hands Held High and The Little Things Give You Way, but at the same time they look like a boy band: Leave Out All The Rest and Valentine's Days are quite boring and avoidable, while Given Up and No More Sorrow show that the band still knows how

'Minutes to Midnight' surely sounds different from other Linkin Park albums. It sometimes lacks of consistence and originality. Violence through shoutings is raw, unsynthesized and disorganized. Some of them are welcome and kind of bring some more depth to the project and the group's overall repertoire but others just miss their point and become dull and shallow. However, no one can contest the fact that Linkin Park made a terrific work on this album: some tracks will remain legendary, like 'What I've Done', 'Bleed It Out' and 'Shadow of the Day' (even if I know everybody will not agree on that point). The band managed to modify their musical approach and artistic direction even if it meant to lose a considerable part of their fanbase. With this project Linkin Park started a new page on their chapter, for the best and the worst. Expand

Even if the album haves behind some of the greatest LP albums (HT and Meteora), for me its the best LP album ever made, haves some of the hardest LP themes (No More Sorrow and Given Up), underrated bangers like In Between or Valentine's Day and one of the best LP songs for end it (TLTGYA), 10/10, a masterpiece with the best LP themes and great unused songs like No Roads Left or Across The Line

  1. The California rap-rockers are stymied by their decision to stay roughly within the shrieky boundaries of their genre (albeit with less emphasis on the rap).
  2. Amid the stabs at growth, every new effect sounds borrowed.
  3. As you might imagine, the band’s emo makeover doesn’t always go smoothly.
