    i was amazed since the first second of listening cry about it later, this album is a reflection of Katy's self-esteem nowadays. it's so comforting knowing she's okay. she makes us feel this way too, the rhythms are everything, the choirs exquisite. Katy really lifted up her music, the industry just hates her, she deserves better reviews

    That's the best Katy's album. It shows some maturing sound and lyric which isn't present in other albums of her. It's more cohesive than witness and teenage dream, and in some parts it brings back the memory of "one of the boys".

    Not a huge fan but this is one of her best works if not the best. Cry about it later , not the end of the world, tucked , champagne problems are the best. Only love hold its own ground while teary eyes and harleys in Hawaii are nearly perfect in their production.

    The criticism is being harsh with the singer, judging the person and not her music. Katy Perry delivers one of the best albums of the year. Consistent, fun, strong, with strong lyrics and dancing at the same time. The salvation that pop needed. Smile is a smile in the midst of chaos. I loved!

    This album is arguably the best of his career, beating PRISM. Each song feels different and has a personality of its own. One of the best albums of the year.

    This album just fits its theme. The message of the entire project is to get through those rough times in our lives. Katy’s lyrics and vocals on these are out of this world. She deserves more recognition. Just absolutly perfect and a skipless álbum.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Smile had a very powerful songs. I couldn't even expect the quality and her pure voice. She looks amazing, her voice and lyrics send us a hard message of power and strenght. She knew that we were waiting for songs and rhythms like "Tucked" or "Cry About It Later". Thank you Katy for never dissapoint us. We love your nee record. This album deserves it better, congratulations.… Expand

    I am not sure why are the critic reviews so harsh? I can speak for myself and other that this album was just wonderful and filled up with many good messages and rhythm -the kind of rhythm you look up when you’re willing to hear Katy Perry’s music. I can see here that everyone is loving the album at its own way and I’m sure this is her best work since witness wasn’t really much of a goodI am not sure why are the critic reviews so harsh?     This album is my 2nd fav album by katy so far, different sound from the other album which is very fit with her voice ,catchy and the production is everything , i wish it has more song on her album cuz less is never enough, keep it up queen!!

This album is a product of hard-work and Katy's love for her fans, imagine working on an album, releasing music, videos, performances, live video chats while pregnant and during a pandemic to top it all.     Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
