    They are far more interesting when they let in some light, most notably on The Hum’s standout, the simmering Retreat.

    This album grabs you by the scruff, throws you around until disorientated, then injects you with some weird trippy downers before picking youThis album grabs you by the scruff, throws you around until disorientated, then injects you with some weird trippy downers before picking you back up and booting you up the a*se... and the crazy thing is...you can't wait to go back for more.
    The Hookworms aren't desperately trying to please on this album, you listen to this on THEIR terms. Visceral honest and uncompromising, this is a step forward from their superb debut "Pearl Mystic".

    I was watching the American Music Awards (AMAs) yesterday and couldn't believe One Direction won like 3 awards!?! It was like being in theI was watching the American Music Awards (AMAs) yesterday and couldn't believe One Direction won like 3 awards!?! It was like being in the Twilight Zone where everyone is different from you. "Where are the truly good bands" I thought. So I went to the computer cuz i remembered hearing about this band and heard some of it on iTunes, and I bought the album and sat down and listened in blissful punk rock satisfaction (if there is such a thing). The energy of the punk as in "Radio Tokyo" and the different vibes coming from songs like "Beginners." Now THIS is a good band! btw, how much of the royalties from selling albums on iTunes do bands receive? I hope it's decent. I heard Garth Brooks wants to start a new music site where the bands get more for their music. If bands like Hookworm can make more money from his site, I hope it's up and running soon!… Full Review »
