"!" is a decent album. Its definitely not Trippie's best project, but its certainly not his worst. All of the songs in "!" are very well produced, but Trippie's vocals are not up to par with what he's been making recently. The writing on this project is...okay, as some of his bars are not very original, seeming like Trippie just made some of the verses with absolutely no writing at all. As"!" is a decent album. The writing on this project is...okay, as some of his bars are not very original, seeming like Trippie just made some of the verses with absolutely no writing at all. As well as on the track "Riot," Trippie seems so be out of key with the instrumental, almost making that track hurt to listen to. The production, on the other hand, is actually pretty good. The almost orchestral sound to some of the instrumentals on this project just work with Trippies cadence. As well as that, this project also has some of my personal favorites by Trippie, such as "Snake Skin", and "Mac 10." Overall, a decent project. Expand

All the songs aim for intense, tormented statements and end up being about nothing. In this way, ! is more numbing than visceral. After it's done, it's hard to remember anything that was worth latching onto.

Although those untargeted croons and messy arrangements don’t allow ! to be a perfect album nor Trippie’s best work, the album is definitely worth a stream for listeners already sold on today’s genre-bending landscape.

Compellingly unpredictable, ! is doubtless part of the genre’s forward march – but it’s hard to get past the sense that White has sacrificed a coherent artistic identity in the name of progress.
