AOTY merecido.

25 proves not only to be a smashing album on the charts, but also a sonically and lyrically powerful album. Adele proves without much effort that she's a respectable A-list. And here it is fitting to exalt his splendid and complete voice.

Adele’s fans have been waiting for years for new Adele songs to explain their experiences to them. Without a doubt it is a great album but there are songs that are heard similar to the previous album, the songs of heartbreak and sadness could be left over, but this is a great strength in their music.

For the longest while, I have wanted to listen to 25 because I loved 21 so much, as it had lyric quality across the board in a way that I had never heard before. As a result, it earned the highest score that I have ever given an album. It was certainly a very hard act to follow, yet somehow 25 is just as good, if not better, in some ways. I enjoyed the actual music a lot more in this album over its predecessor, as Adele expands her music to primarily piano-based to more poppy things while still staying true to her roots, and I thought this new sound worked extremely well. Plus, the lyrics are on par with her previous outing. Love In The Dark especially had unbelievable lyrics. I’m still kind of blown away by this as a whole. It joins the seven other albums (out of over 130) to earn a score of a ten and this rank is well earned. The work begins with Hello, and I greatly appreciated all of the lyrics, but especially the opening line. I enjoyed the piano and I thought it was brilliant how it got progressively bigger. The background vocals were also a nice touch. Send My Love’s cue-in was a wonderful way to start the song, and it was great to hear Adele start off the song with guitar, as she usually does with piano. As a result, this sounded new and different and I liked the beat it created. Powerful lyrics added to the song’s quality. I Miss You was another great song. The use of organ was new, as was the brilliant use of toms. The lyrics were grappling and the organ solo within the breaks was great. The song sounded different from her other stuff, which was wonderful. The song was almost 6 minutes in length, but somehow it didn’t feel like that. As I listened to the song, I realized that this was going to be another very high-quality album. The bass was legitimately awesome in When We Were Young and its lyrics were powerful, overflowing with emotion. The subtle introduction of the titular line was great and I dug the cool chord near end of the chorus. The introduction of drums and the stripped final chorus were highlights. Remedy’s piano opening was great (and later the piano solo and drop-outs!), and I love the song’s uplifting message. I loved the way Water Under The Bridge sounded, and, paired with captivating lyrics, this song worked extremely well. The background vocals were awesome and the e-guitars were wonderful. The clap track in the bridge was pretty cool too. The background vocals and organ made a great team in the opener of River Lea, though the fuller, developed part of song was great. The song made me want to know more about the river’s story. The lyrics were a bit repetitive, though I liked the loud bass and background vocals-only ending. Love In The Dark was perhaps the most powerful song on the album. The strings and piano were probably the best choice for the song musically. The lyrics were extremely well done with lots of emotion and power evident. The pizzicato strings were a good addition. I honestly don’t know how Adele can write lyrics that are this powerful. The strings solo was another musical highlight. The guitar was great in Million Years Ago and theunique chord progressions were cool. The panned humming and guitar were great additions. The lyrics were really good and powerful in this song as well. The piano in All I Ask was pretty nice, a bit refreshing to have a simpler song musically. The lyrics were sung emotionally, which was a plus. I loved the use of lower notes on the piano during the bridge and the key change was outstanding. Sweetest Devotion was a great choice to end the album on. The child voice intro/ending was cool, and I just really liked the way the intro was put together. The loud bass was great and I loved the way the music sounded when everything was full. The song’s upbeatness and riffing e-guitar is epic, and it was kinda fun how the bass drops out at times, covered by the low piano. Overall, I was exceedingly pleased by Adele’s final album, 25. The music was surprisingly upbeat and poppy by her previous standards, and the lyric writing was top-notch. I simply do not understand how she can think of lyrics that are this powerful. 25 is one of the best albums I have ever listened to and I highly recommend it to all lovers of really good music. Adele definitely deserves all the acclaim she has received for her work. It is rumored right now that she is working on a next album that she will drop soon, and since 21 and 25 were two of the best albums I have listened to, I am so excited for it to be released. Highlights: Hello, Send My Love, I Miss You, When We Were Young, Remedy, Water Under The Bridge, Love In The Dark, Million Years Ago, and Sweetest Devotion.

Singles "Hello" and "When We Were Young" remain highlights on the record, but aforementioned tracks like "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)," "I Miss You" and "Water Under the Bridge," not to mention "River Lea," hear Adele taking a welcome detour from the orchestral piano-pop formula and moving towards more interesting, groove-driven patterns.

Throughout these towering production flourishes, Adele's vocals cast an even vaster shadow: swooping, swerving, blaring brassily and cooing tenderly, a full orchestra unto itself that's theatrical, unpredictable, and dynamic.

The songs are not so much about love as the memory of love and, accordingly, there's a chasm between her aggressive vocal runs and the cautiously generalist lyrics, especially on the maudlin latter half.
