It's exactly what I was waiting, and it was worth it. Adele came back with a record that perfectly summarises life experiences in the same way "21" did, but instead of raw anger now we have hope, nostalgia, undying love, etc. A triumph of giagantic proportions.

ok.......so 25 is very good. As in i thought 21 i was great but adele manages to evoke this maturity in in her latest album that evokes elements of 21 but the variety that makes the album beautiful. I feel like " I miss you " is a
beautiful song tht proves her depth and " River lea" that she is a song writer on the level of noel Gallagher..Overall , 25l is a great album

All i can say is that 25 is the best, most cohesive album I have heard in recent times. I honestly can't wrap my head around the reviewers saying this album sounds just like 21. I honestly can't wrap my head around the reviewers saying this album sounds just like 21. If you actually listened to the 21 album (and not just glanced it over), you honestly will not be able to say that. With this album, Adele has progressed her sound to be a bit brighter, more expressive, and more introspective. The songs, just like 21 did with heartbreak, gives you a full tour on the ups and downs of life and coming to terms with the resultant journey. Honestly, when i was done listening to the album, I felt like all those little feelings I had hiding somewhere inside were finally able to come to the surface. The only drawback for me is the long string of ballads towards the end. However, when Sweetest Devotion comes on, you realize why it was arranged that way. Honestly, 25 is better than 21 as far as I'm concerned (but not by much), as it shows progression of life and story.

Best Tracks: Hello (classic), I Miss You (my best), When We Were Young (classic), River Lea, Love in the Dark, All I Ask (another classic), and Sweetest Devotion (best album closer I've ever heard)

NB: This album will be a 10 if not for the long line of ballads towards the end. The only (slight) drawback to this album I can honestly find.

EDIT: Giving this album a 10. For 2 reasons: It sounds perfect on shuffle, and also so as to combat the stupid negative reviews this is getting. So congrats Adele. You get a 10.

Adele is back this time with a stronger voice and a very solid record. "25" isn't another heartbreak album, it's a make-up album. The album opens up with the (iconic and triumphant return) line "hello it's me" from the lead single "Hello", a ballad that reaches out to the loved ones and asks for their forgiveness. The first surprise is the Max Martin and Shellback produced track that gives Adele a poppy sound that suits her very well. Another upbeat song is "Water Under The Bridge" which is, in my opinion, a huge brilliant song, and a potential single. Although it's not a heartbreak record, it's full of strong ballads, like the Bruno Mars penned track "All I Ask", a remarkable song that proves that Adele has the strongest voice in the music industry these days. "When We Were Young" finds Adele reminiscing about the past in hauntingly beautiful lyrics. It's the song that defines the album the most. "Million Years Ago" takes Adele back to her "19" days. It proves that she only needs a guitar to make an astonishing song. Unlike "21" which ended on a sad note with "Someone Like You", "25" closes with an epic cheerful track "Sweetest Devotion" proving that Adele has overcome her sadness and found her happiness in another person, her son Angelo. "25" couldn't have been better. Expand

Adele is back and not surprisingly, better than ever before! Which makes me sad. This is honestly, the 1st time I've ever bought an album in my life! Which makes me sad. This is honestly, the 1st time I've ever bought an album in my life! We need more people who actually have talent, otherwise, music's corpse will continue to rot. Her album follows its predecessor with stellar vocals, full blown emotional artwork, silky smooth and appealing beat and rhythm, and song lyrics crafted like its a sweet little poem. Obviously, just this wouldn't cut it, but Adele knows that. Adele seemed to work tenfold times harder on this album: She went on a couple year hiatus to live her life in order to, find some award winning content and to basically have a life other than her career; As revealed by her in the Rolling Stone interview, she focuses solely on the music and her music reflects her as a person and her recent experiences--Art--Personal art! Finally, an artist realizes the actual purpose of music for cripes sake! Music is intended as a go to way to express personal experiences and emotions, set up in a melody and beat that THEY FEEL matches with what they're experiencing, and ultimately, used to help them process their emotions! No auto tune, NO HYPERSEXUALIZED WOMEN USED TO RAKE IN VIEWS, no flat and mechanical vocals/lyrics, and full of absolutely apparent emotional struggle! The only criticism that I have is that a select few of the songs seem filler-y. But overall, the album is sure to send 21 to no. 2 on the Billboard's #BestOfAllTime--Albums. At this point, the album already deserves a 9.5, but Adele's personality rockets it to a 10: She's humorous, kind, doesn't get carried away by dangerous things(Ex: fame), and just overall is a wonderful person. The only bad habit that she has is her outrageously frequent swearing. Keep on it Adele! I know you are very afraid to fail, but don't let that control your life. Remember this: You need to realize that everybody has infinite potential and that with courage all people will have a 95% chance to reach that sweet success. Just be careful, make sure you don't start running away from your burdens; They will only get deadlier the more you run. Deal with your emotions, but try to also be happy--In combination with diplomacy, this is the healthiest way to live life! Even science has proven this! Expand

'25' is an album reviewers are making the dangerous mistake of trying too hard to compare to 21, instead of actually assessing it on it's own merits.

Sonically, this album is far different to her previous efforts '19' and '21', with the exception of "River Lea" and "All I ask". She is free, she has allowed herself to have more fun and to experience more. Speaking to Rolling Stone about the album, Paul Epworth said that "Their goal on the album was exploring the “weirdest sounds” possible on a centrist pop-vocal album and not being so “anachronistic” as they were on 21", and you can definitely tell. "I Miss You" is a great example of that, it has a slick ghost like Florence and the machine beat that see's Adele owning her sexuality in a way we haven't seen from her before. The songs that stand out to me, and that I think will become classics are "When We Were Young", "All I Ask" and "Sweetest Devotion". These songs are 'Adele songs', they are delivered with complete sincerity, have an emotional impact that fans will allow into their lives for a long time, much like "Someone Like You".

Overall this is an album that isn't aiming to put into any particular genre, it is an album making a statement, it is an album that you can pick up in 25 (forgive me, I had to) years from now, and play and instantly be taken aback by just how incredible it is.

Adele's '25' lives up to all of its expectations. Every track on her highly anticipated "25" sounds grand, from the piano tune "Remedy" to "Water Under the Bridge," which is layered and full of echoes and sounds as if it was created just to be performed live.

And even when the singer collaborates with producers who at times sound formulaic and radio friendly, she brings them to new levels. Max Martin, who has created pop anthems for Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Taylor Swift, sounds unrecognizable on "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)," which has Adele on guitar. Bruno Mars and his producer cohorts, Philip Lawrence and Christopher Brody Brown, work more than magic on the R&B-flavored "All I Ask," another piano tune that immediately grabs your attention
And that's just it: "25" not only meets incredibly high expectations, it exceeds them.
Adele's growth is best heard on "Million Years Ago," a touching, soft song that is majestic and unforgettable.
"Sometimes I just feel it's only me, who never became who they thought they'd be, I wish I could live a little more, look up to the sky, not just the floor," she sings in her top-notch tone.

The 11-track album is not a far stretch from "21," the singer's best-selling 2011 album that helped her reach nearly impossible heights in contemporary music. "Love In the Dark," written with Sia collaborator Samuel Dixon, is reminiscent of "Turning Tables" from "21"; she's looking back on "When We Were Young," which sounds like a pop classic; and the drum-filled "I Miss You" is eerie and moody — in a good way.

Even the top-selling single, "Hello," continues to sound better and better after each listen.

"Hello, can you hear me?" she sings.

Yes, Adele. And we're so glad we do.

Music for the soul, greatness to the core. As a subscriber to digital service Spotify, I find it a little offensive though that she would oppose it being streamed. A lot of criticism has been brought to this album such as Adele repeating herself, the music being boring and overall just a simply overrated concept. I can't help but wonder what do these people want to reinvent with Adele, if this is the style that brought her success and identifies with her, as long as she can bring something new and good I don't think it's necessary to change what is already good. Adele can be viewed as an artist with a great ensemble of ballads and low tempo songs, but when someone attributes this with the songs being boring, not only is this misleading but it also gives a negative perspective on the state of music these days, anything that doesn't have an obnoxious bass in it, anything that makes you think and put attention to what your hearing is automatically called boring, I can't help but think these people are mostly people that don't listen to music they listen to background noise.
What is a good Pop album? In other words what is a solid pop album, many a times it's difficult to identify a good pop album when the main problem lies in something people don't usually see, the lyrics. Adele being overrated means that she isn't a particularly special artist, that she is like every other pop artist. People that like to compare her work to the work of other pop artist are not listening to her lyrics, do these lyrics have to be deep and insightful to be good, no. Why? Because as long as your lyrics are clever and from the heart, they are good lyrics. Many people don't realize that these other so called "good as Adele" artists write lyrics that are repeated, can fit on your finger and that can be written by a monkey. As a whole, I think this album is a worthy entry to Adele's discography, and one of the better albums this year.

For the longest while, I have wanted to listen to 25 because I loved 21 so much, as it had lyric quality across the board in a way that I had never heard before. As a result, it earned the highest score that I have ever given an album. It was certainly a very hard act to follow, yet somehow 25 is just as good, if not better, in some ways. I enjoyed the actual music a lot more in this album over its predecessor, as Adele expands her music to primarily piano-based to more poppy things while still staying true to her roots, and I thought this new sound worked extremely well. Plus, the lyrics are on par with her previous outing. Love In The Dark especially had unbelievable lyrics. I’m still kind of blown away by this as a whole. It joins the seven other albums (out of over 130) to earn a score of a ten and this rank is well earned. The work begins with Hello, and I greatly appreciated all of the lyrics, but especially the opening line. I enjoyed the piano and I thought it was brilliant how it got progressively bigger. The background vocals were also a nice touch. Send My Love’s cue-in was a wonderful way to start the song, and it was great to hear Adele start off the song with guitar, as she usually does with piano. As a result, this sounded new and different and I liked the beat it created. Powerful lyrics added to the song’s quality. I Miss You was another great song. The use of organ was new, as was the brilliant use of toms. The lyrics were grappling and the organ solo within the breaks was great. The song sounded different from her other stuff, which was wonderful. The song was almost 6 minutes in length, but somehow it didn’t feel like that. As I listened to the song, I realized that this was going to be another very high-quality album. The bass was legitimately awesome in When We Were Young and its lyrics were powerful, overflowing with emotion. The subtle introduction of the titular line was great and I dug the cool chord near end of the chorus. The introduction of drums and the stripped final chorus were highlights. Remedy’s piano opening was great (and later the piano solo and drop-outs!), and I love the song’s uplifting message. I loved the way Water Under The Bridge sounded, and, paired with captivating lyrics, this song worked extremely well. The background vocals were awesome and the e-guitars were wonderful. The clap track in the bridge was pretty cool too. The background vocals and organ made a great team in the opener of River Lea, though the fuller, developed part of song was great. The song made me want to know more about the river’s story. The lyrics were a bit repetitive, though I liked the loud bass and background vocals-only ending. Love In The Dark was perhaps the most powerful song on the album. The strings and piano were probably the best choice for the song musically. The lyrics were extremely well done with lots of emotion and power evident. The pizzicato strings were a good addition. I honestly don’t know how Adele can write lyrics that are this powerful. The strings solo was another musical highlight. The guitar was great in Million Years Ago and theunique chord progressions were cool. The panned humming and guitar were great additions. The lyrics were really good and powerful in this song as well. The piano in All I Ask was pretty nice, a bit refreshing to have a simpler song musically. The lyrics were sung emotionally, which was a plus. I loved the use of lower notes on the piano during the bridge and the key change was outstanding. Sweetest Devotion was a great choice to end the album on. The child voice intro/ending was cool, and I just really liked the way the intro was put together. The loud bass was great and I loved the way the music sounded when everything was full. The song’s upbeatness and riffing e-guitar is epic, and it was kinda fun how the bass drops out at times, covered by the low piano. Overall, I was exceedingly pleased by Adele’s final album, 25. The music was surprisingly upbeat and poppy by her previous standards, and the lyric writing was top-notch. I simply do not understand how she can think of lyrics that are this powerful. 25 is one of the best albums I have ever listened to and I highly recommend it to all lovers of really good music. Adele definitely deserves all the acclaim she has received for her work. It is rumored right now that she is working on a next album that she will drop soon, and since 21 and 25 were two of the best albums I have listened to, I am so excited for it to be released. Highlights: Hello, Send My Love, I Miss You, When We Were Young, Remedy, Water Under The Bridge, Love In The Dark, Million Years Ago, and Sweetest Devotion.

25 proves not only to be a smashing album on the charts, but also a sonically and lyrically powerful album. Adele proves without much effort that she's a respectable A-list. And here it is fitting to exalt his splendid and complete voice.

The album is perfect for her comeback especially with her first single Hello. Really in love with this album with more upbeat songs

Singles "Hello" and "When We Were Young" remain highlights on the record, but aforementioned tracks like "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)," "I Miss You" and "Water Under the Bridge," not to mention "River Lea," hear Adele taking a welcome detour from the orchestral piano-pop formula and moving towards more interesting, groove-driven patterns.

Throughout these towering production flourishes, Adele's vocals cast an even vaster shadow: swooping, swerving, blaring brassily and cooing tenderly, a full orchestra unto itself that's theatrical, unpredictable, and dynamic.

The songs are not so much about love as the memory of love and, accordingly, there's a chasm between her aggressive vocal runs and the cautiously generalist lyrics, especially on the maudlin latter half.
