This album is **** he barley even raps to the beats...where is the flow? Lyrics going over peoples heads...what lyrics? It's like he just didn't even care, lazily talking over sub-par beats. Out of 444 i give this album a .4. Poetry night at your local coffee shop will outshine this album. I mean, he didn't even bother with an album cover...stfu jay...you havn't moved a kilo in over 10This album is **** he barley even raps to the beats...where is the flow? Jay-Z follows up McHG with more snore inducing music. His last great album was AMerican Gangster (or WTT if you want to include that) and I think it's time he retires. His idiot stans on KTT may hype this up but I think in a month we'll all realize Jay's days as an interesting lyricist/artist are over. He should have stopped after Black Album.

If you care to hear a multi millionaire complain about his life and do it while trying to somewhat keep a rhythm. To what can only be described as the type of beats a 50 year old man would choose to make a album over. Then this album is for you otherwise get it only if you need a to cure insomnia .

A few tracks stand apart: "Story Of OJ" and "Mercy Me" both impress for verve and venom if not his every chain of thought. Otherwise it's all so dry that after a couple of listens it feels more like spoken word. [Sep 2017, p.62]

    A mere 36 minutes in length, it’s an all-killer no-filler triumph.

Already one of the greatest rappers in history, this is the kind of late career artistic push that will cement Jay-Z’s place on rap’s Mount Rushmore. This is Jay-Z walking onto the stage alone, standing contritely in front of the world, and speaking from the heart, revealing himself in order to heal.
