Without a doubt, the best pop/rock album of 2019 in my opinion.
It has it all, from lyrics to instrumentals and soulful melodies.

At first i was disappointed, the music is different from previous albums...but once you get over it...with a good sound system...it's just incredible. Excellent album, crazy sound good guitar, original drum

Bring me the horizon has kept up with the changing industry and injected a whole ton of new spirit into this album without losing their previous style. This is achieved by combining electronic music with metal. The current album is much more atmospheric with a more varied soundscape than previous albums. They had to sacrifice the amount of angst, which is okay for me.

This is my favorite BMTH album.
It is very experimental in terms of genre fusion and crossover of artists.
There features from Grimes and rahzel, which works really great. The first half is very great and tastefully executed. I have no complains in the first half. Second half have minor issues like bad falsettos on **** generic songwriting on mother tongue and very boring outro track

Las letras están bien, pero la ejecución de "instrumentos" no está bien, desde la primera canción te hace sentir incómodo, no sabes si es dubstep o un intento de nu-metal no logrado, pero qué lástima que la banda nos de esto

Bring Me the Horizon have officially abandoned their metal roots. Normally when a band makes a change like this I lose interest as it feels too much like they've sold out. The one issue to be found with the album is Oli Sykes repeated attacks against religion. I'm not trying to infringe on his right to disbelief, but this has been a reoccuring theme in his work for years now and it's disappointing for even a single aspect of this band to start coming off as one-note. Especially on their most wild and creative effort to date. Expand

First of all: Congrats to BMTH being so daring and bets in this type of music without caring with another individuals opinion.
Second of all: Do not do as I do: listening to the album expecting an ambitious electro metalcore with orchestral elements and some lapses of pop music instead of interesting lyrics with much less interesting Lady Gaga's-like music style.

What a clusterfuk. Not sure BMTH knows what direction to take at this point. There are some really good track on here like MANTRA, wonderful life, medicine but also some really awful tracks like why you gotta kick me when im down and in the dark. A good clusterfuk of a mess is what this is.

I really like the new sound that Bring Me the Horizon has. They've progressed into a band that can do many genres. This album combined rock with metal and alternative pop, all of which are fantastically done. The lyricism is fresh and the meaning behind the album is very touching. Oli Sykes' voice fits the tracks perfectly, with his grungy, raspy vocals killing every track he's on. II really like the new sound that Bring Me the Horizon has. We have 2019 and some people still give low scores to albums only because the artist has changed the style. The album is different than all the previous ones, but in my eyes it does not make it worse, and even I think it is very good and the level is able to match that "That's the Spirit". Cool play with production and great lyric content makes the album really good.

A really decent album comparing the bland "That's the Spirit" record. It is kind of all over the place style-wise but most of the things they did are pretty alright. The first few tracks were promising but I wish they kept going the same way. It's really a experimental mix of electronic, pop punk rock, power rock and some other.

I really like the voice and the record of the lead singer on this one, it's clean and recognisable. The bad things are that sometime they are overdoing it with the beats and electronic bits. Also the middle part of the record sometimes just sounds like a Fall Out Boy or Green day record from the 00s.
Also I didn't really care about the squeaky voice on one of the tracks and the beatboxing bit was also very strange. I hope the band goes more in this way in the future and I will give them a 8 for potential.

This album is a further step away from their roots (which is okay) but in my opinion they skipped a few steps. However, good parts first: The lyrics. However, the musical package is just not working for me. There are a few tracks that I like for their rock aspects (Mantra, Wonderful Life, Sugar, honey, ice and tea) and even the pop aspects of some of the other songs are alright.

Just to be clear: I liked "That's The Spirit" very much so not being heavy isn't an issue. However, the bands jumps back and forth between heavy, poppy, electronic and it seems very forced and inconsistent. It is obvious that they're trying to explore new musical directions but, in my humble opinion, it would be much better if they had taken their time instead of putting it all in one album. It is difficult to enjoy as a whole and seems very messy. Good ideas but bad execution.

Props to BMTH for continuing to evolve their sound over time. I wouldn’t call this album experimental. Most of this water has been treaded in, but the way Horizon brings in several different elements to create this severely electro-post hardcore sound proves that this sound can work. Unfortunately, the album itself is very hit or miss. It has some really cool moments throughout including aProps to BMTH for continuing to evolve their sound over time. This is not the band i fell in love with, and in my opinion this is 0/10 music content. This is now a pop band. I dont need them to make heavy music, i dont care if they dont scream any more, all i care about is them honoring their roots. Which atleast they did in thats the spirit. There is nothing left any more.

Some of these songs sound straight up one direction or justin bieber. "Mothertongue" is the most radio bait song i have ever heard in my life. Terrible.

Overall, Amo is a strident record, difficult to categorize and, in a good way, uniquely spliced and sequenced with little fear of crossing boundaries--but part of mastering this dark art is knowing when to put the paintbrush down.
