I would not define myself as a die-hard Ghostemane fan, but clearly I listened to his music for quite a while. I had a hard time in the begenning to fully understand what a guy like this wanted to create and communicater through his music. Time helped me getting closer and closer of his style.

'ANTI-ICON' is another main step for an indefinable and indeterminate artist like Ghostemane.

'ANTI-ICON' is another main step for an indefinable and indeterminate artist like Ghostemane. Here his music is even more eclectic, multiphasic and electric than ever. The mixing is perfect. The tracklist is just stunning. The chain of short and longer songs is great but the overall style, delivery and confidence (in nothing) strike us ever more. If beats and instruments aren't clearly that original nor surprising, the complementarity of Ghostemane's performance, voice, screams and energy definitely is something every curious listener must have to taste. This album, despite its name, showcases iconic patterns, flaws and recoveries.

What happens if we combine metal and trap? Good question, but Ghostemane gave us a great answer with this Anti-Icon, a perfect combination of genres and sounds, with Mayhem and Nine Inch Nails influences. The transitions between the songs are pure gold. The production is fire. The lyrics and the themes are moving, shocking and intriguing, as well as the most trap moments, for example inWhat happens if we combine metal and trap? PS: this guy's style is so creepy and cool, I cannot help but love it. Expand

For me, this one is one of the weakest, really good and the previous classics

It’s a tremendous step forward, while still remaining an acquired, uncompromising taste.

Ghostemane’s ANTI-ICON is a feverish collection of voices pitted against a genre-blending backdrop of visceral noise. Taking heavy music to a whole new level is something only an anti-icon could do, and Ghostemane’s firecracker of a new record achieves just that.

Ghostemane knows who he is. That he expresses himself this articulately without giving too much of that away is in itself testament to his esoteric skills.
