Apr 4, 2014Great album. Better the 2nd and 3rd listen than the first and the 1st was great!! A little of everything with amazingly crisp choice of instruments to compliment phenomenal lyrics!!!

Apr 2, 2014This album is awesome for anyone looking for something completely unique. Sometimes, when albums are described this way, they simply sound weird. This is not the case with Arc Iris. It borrows elements from several different genres, such that the finished product is simultaneously beautiful and indescribable. Definitely worth a listen for avid music fans who feel like they've "heard it all."

Apr 8, 2014I'm new to MetaCritic. I've been looking for new music by trying out albums that are highly rated by both critics and users (e.g., Salad Days - Mac DeMarco)... ArcIris-ArcIris did not disappoint!! What a great album!

May 1, 2014The first [half] sees Adams’ spectral vocals go up against a furious string section, while the second is reminiscent of Joanna Newsom’s work with Van Dyke Parks. It’s all interesting stuff--albeit with a predilection for the twee--but may be a little much for some listeners to take in one go.

Apr 24, 2014Though the band seems to have packed all of its musical interests and abilities into the album’s 11 songs, this is a most likely only a sampling of their capabilities and of the colorful ideas yet to spring from the mind of Jocie Adams.

Apr 16, 2014While some moments may be a little theatrical, the astounding musicianship and production pulls it back, from the thick woodiness of clarinet and raucous cupped trumpet to the unbelievable percussion and strings.
