I haven't bought a cd in about 5 years, and this one was way worth it. I enjoy listening to it in my car. It has great beat!

Very good pop by a great performer. The songs are catchy and Blake's voice sounds great. His creativity was not squashed by Idol and this album should be a hit.

This guy is so plain and has no personality whatsoever. He got so far by doing so little. He's perfectly average and nothing painfully boring.

A little too Vanilla to pass as a serious R&B or Hip-Hop act. And what's up with the fruity album cover?

Love him or hate him, there is no denying Blake Lewis is, by far, the most creative Idol alumni to date. And that's just the problem. You will either love him, or hate him. There isnt much in between. And his album is no different. Fortunately, I am one of the people who absolutely love his album, and I'm not alone in saying Blake Lewis is musicial genius. Unfortunately for Blake, few have been able to recognize this, instead, passing him off as a wannabe with a terrible voice. I love his voice, I love his debut album, I just love Blake Lewis. He has an amazing, fun personality, a fresh sound, and I definately dont think we've seen the last of him. Expand

A fun album, if you don't mind the constantly changing styles. Voice isn't super strong -- but we knew that. If you like an 80's undercurrent and don't look down on Am. Idol, its worth the listen.

Love it. I have to dance to it, can't stand still. It is Blake Lewis persona fide, and that is a GOOD thing.

Terrible writing, boring singing, lame production. All of the bad qualities of Maroon 5 and Timberlake, without nothing good to add. Even BT's contributions are weak. Steer clear.

If you are a Blaker girl and voted for Blake on AI, then you will appreciate this very solid pop album with catchy tracks, and pretty good production value. Blake even gets to beatbox on "Bshorty grabs the mic",and does his ghostly falsetto with reverb intervals in between the 16 songs. Must hears are the first single "Break Anotha" (better on studio version vs the one I saw on Leno), If you are a Blaker girl and voted for Blake on AI, then you will appreciate this very solid pop album with catchy tracks, and pretty good production value. Must hears are the first single "Break Anotha" (better on studio version vs the one I saw on Leno), Prince-inspired "Watcha got to lose?" and the BT-produced "She's making me lose it". You can hear Blake's admitted influences Maroon 5, JT and 80s bands like Prince, Duran Duran. I think this is the album he wanted to make, and hopefully in the future he can hone and refine his musical style and talent for more sure-footed and less derivative music. Worth the USD10! Expand

I really liked all but one song. I love how all of the songs were different but catchy. He knows what to do with the tools he has.

Tim, you're a friggin moron and obviously don't know that much about music production or writing. Something tells me you sit behind a desk all day and hate your job. The album infuses a lot of different styles and genres and actually makes it work. Nice work B-Shorty!

This album rocks! It is original and catchy. The songs grow on you each time you hear them. I think Blake is definitely outside of the box and knows what he wants to sound like. Much more in command of his sound that his Idol contemporaries. Great job!

A very promising debut from another American Idol-er! I can understand anyone's skepticism, but until you've listened to this album and compared it w/past Idol-ers (Ruben, Double D Degarmo, Taylor) you won't know what you're missing. Blake's got an ear for great sound and has a future ahead of him that I'm glad to at least hear a part of.

I love it.. I'm the older crowd that loved Blake's charm and refreshingly pleasant voice. Call me "Granny Beat Boxer Rocker" but I love Blake!

This CD rules! How can anyone say its bad? he has GREAT personality and GREAT sound. The beat boxing is something extra that i love, but he could still make it without it.

I've only heard Break Anotha so far, and after I really listened to it I really liked it. What I like about him is that he is a complete spaz and he has his own unique style.

Almost a year after it's release, I'm still enjoying ADD and it never fails to lift my spirits. News about Blake has been kind of skimpy lately, but I hope he's been working away. He's got a great voice he knows how to use, a great ear for sound, is creative, and loves music. Can't wait to hear more from him.

  1. ADD is certainly one of the more interesting AmIdol-related records, but so much commotion without construction is ultimately as forgettable as Jordin's pageant-winner trifle, and perhaps a little more tiring to get through, too.
  2. Overall, ADD demonstrates why Lewis blazed his way into AI's final round: He's out there, sure, but he's willing to reel it in enough to keep it real for the masses.
  3. "American Idol" season six runner-up Blake Lewis' debut, "ADD: Audio Day Dream," is indeed a little all over the map, but, surprisingly, it works.
