This is the other 2021 album by a Paramore-influenced woman in her teens. It isn't as slick as Olivia Rodrigo's SOUR, but it isn't meant to be. Not all of the material here works, but there are more than enough high points to make this one of the year's better albums and to suggest a great future for Moriondo.

A genuinely excellent plate of upbeat summer bangers. From the bedroom to the spotlight, the most surprisingly great pop album of 2021 may have already arrived.

There is much to distinguish Moriondo, whose sense of mischief is as strong as her pop-punk desire to tell it like it is.

On the robust and vividly plain-spoken “Blood Bunny,” Moriondo, now 18, is a pop-punk whiz, deftly hopping between musical approaches from spare to lushly produced, and emphasizing intimate, cut-to-the-bone lyrics.
