BTW is not that bad, is all the way better than her old releases with no doubt, but i think she may be more strong and less full of herself when will make this, some songs are really good but others just dispossable, if the whole album have a artistic power that some songget may be flawless.

Was she really born this way!?

What a massive 2 years. From the nervous girl who sat with Jonathan Ross on his sofa to the meat wearing music master! She has gone from strength to strength and more eccentric by the album. â

The album already has this feel to it that it just wants to be played in a night club on a buy one get one free booze night. Its nothing more than a collection of club tunes for a fickle audience. Then Gaga released 'Edge Of Glory' and after two or three listens the song begins to shake off the bad representation of the two songs prior. Its catchy (but with a staying power) Its not going to be that single everyone liked but then it got over played so now everyone hates it. The Album has some good tracks on it. 'Hair' had this 80's Kate Bush meets electronic dance pop and 'Bloody Mary' has an amazing dark, slow but harsh sound to it. This album's great, but there's really only four songs you truly need from it: "Judas", "Born This Way", "Electric Chapel", and "Edge of Glory". Otherwise, it's just the usual Gaga fill-in we saw in THE FAME MONSTER.

While I certainly enjoy Gaga's music as a whole, this album didn't blow me out of the water as much as 2008's 'The Fame'. While 'Born This Way' may be one of my all time favorite songs, and most likely my favorite Gaga song to date, and 'Edge of Glory', and 'You and I' were also great hits, I really can't say that I enjoyed the rest of the album as much as I thought I would. 'Americano' and 'Judas' in particular I find puzzling. Not bad, just... puzzling. Gaga really has such an amazing talent, but sometimes I just find myself completely torn as to whether she's a very eclectic genius, or a very talented lunatic. Perhaps both. Either way, Born This Way is at large a great album. Gaga fans must have it, but anyone else might stick to picking the tracks off iTunes. Expand

The good in Born This Way heavily outweighs the bad. The songs are fun, and Lady Gaga cranks out some catchy melodies and solid beats. "Judas" and "Born This Way" are the 'controversial' tracks, but they both serve as enjoyable, catchy dance tunes with a little bit of a message. Gaga's voice is definitely a strong asset, and it accompanies the rich synths and melodies very well.

I'm writing this after having also listened to her new ARTPOP album, which was disappointing. Hopefully her next projects follow in the footsteps of Born This Way, as Born This Way shows musical growth and maturity. Not perfect, a little underwhelming or generic at times, but definitely a step in the right direction I believe.

Lady Gaga's second attempt to a full-length album is extraordinary powerful, unique and interesting. "Born This Way" is a prayer to self-loving, tolerance and not being afraid of you really are, with a hint of glitter from the 80s while partying with heavy metal lovers. I believe it to be a stepping stone for future artists, a stimulus to try something new and different.

This album really lies between The Fame and The Fame Monster. It's a good album with a positive message and great production. The only concern I have about Born This Way is that the music gets repetitive after a while. This album earns a B from me. Highlights: "Born This Way", "The Edge of Glory", "Government Hooker". This is Gaga's most overrated album and everyone knows It. Born This Way has a great sound, but for me It's too long. Bad Kids, Black Jesus and a few other tracks are not good for this record.

The Edge Of Glory, Hair, Americano, Marry The Night and Yoü And I are the tracks that save this record (according to me) and show us for the first time how versatile Gaga's music can be.

Gaga has always been able to anchor her haughty conceptual undertakings with simple, catchy tunes, but with «Born This Way», the persona and the message are starting to bleed into the songs. It's not a good look. It lacks the overall quality of Robyn's «Body Talk» or the stand-out singles of Rihanna's «Loud», yet it's still packed with hooks, killer choruses and unexpected twists.

A solid album. The lyrics are sometimes a little cheesy, but the whole album feels like it could have been released in the 80s. She is obviously trying new styles, such as in Judas, which she has never tried before. It's nice to see an artist challenging themselves in this way. The songs themselves may take a bit of getting used to; Born This Way, Judas, Americano, Hair, Highway Unicorn and Electric Chapel all initially left me disappointed, but after hearing them more and more, I find all of them very impressive. Here's a track by track review: "Marry The Night" - A nice opener for the album. Like some of Fernando Garibay's other work, I found the production on the song a little messy, but was pleased. The chorus is wonderful and very catchy. 8.5/10 "Born This Way" - Initially a letdown for me (compared to the other album's first singles, Just Dance and Bad Romance, how could it not be!?) mainly because of the bad production. There are seriously like 10 instruments just playing whatever the hell they want. After a while though, once you get over the disappointment, you have to realize that this is probably going to be considered one of Gaga's most iconic songs. It isn't THAT bad, either. 8.5/10 "Government Hooker" - Compared to the preview we got a few months ago, this is a disappointment. It's slower, which makes the song less enjoyable. However, it's one of Gaga's weirdest tracks ever, and it's extremely catchy. Also, I like how Gaga was comparing us to hookers who get "screwed" by the government but don't care. 9/10 "Judas" - At first, I was supremely disappointed by this song. It felt like an attempt to make another "Bad Romance" but failed miserably. However, the song eventually grew on me. A LOT. The verses are amazing, the pre-chorus, too, and the bridge is fantastic. The only thing I dislike about this song is the chorus. Everything else is amazing. 9/10 "Americano" - The beginning kind of threw me off. I really thought I wasn't going to enjoy it and it just sounded like a cheesefest. But once the song got going, it was pretty nice. The chorus is powerful and this is also a really odd track. 8.5/10 "Hair" - Initially another letdown. I felt the song sounded extremely similar to the song released just a week prior to this (Edge of Glory) so was pretty put off. However, once Edge of Glory began boring me I began listening to this more. Yes, it feels like another EoG, but it's more ... fun. The saxophone isn't just randomly clunked into the song; it's actually a PART of the song throughout. The chorus is one of the catchiest on the album. 8.5/10 "Scheià Expand

There's a distinct difference in sound and feel from her Fame era, with this album exploring dark and thought-provoking themes that are seldom delved into in the music industry. This includes the likes of homosexuality, religion, acceptance, death and even human rights. The overall appeal of the album is intentionally not meant for a particular audience, but takes an individualistic approach that has each song garnering favour from different crowds of people. Near-ballads such as Hair, Yoü and I & The Edge Of Glory certainly show her vocal range, and at the same time broaches different topics that come in life. The album also takes strong influences from Whitney Houston, Madonna & Bruce Springsteen and the genres range from heavy metal to electropop to eurodance. Despite scooping in much success as an album, the singles didn't fare as well on the Billboard Hot 100. Diverting from the typical pop mould may not have brought her the success that the Fame albums did, but she has intricately infused many layers of messages for listeners to extract.

Personally, I'm not so much a fan of this album. There seems to be too many themes being explored at a go and some of them hinge on blasphemy, irreverence and unfamiliarity, which has caused her to lose many of her initial fans. Fortunately, the music she's produced this round has won her new fans with the strong message of acceptance in various aspects. Her passion for music and musical tributes are apparent, and is definitely admirable. However, she might want to tone down on the heavy tunes and strong background music that seem to engulf the lyrics and clarity that made the Fame albums strong. Hopefully, the forthcoming 4th album will redeem her as a true pop artist, with better choice of singles and a vocal range that will stun the masses. Hmm, but with Lady Gaga, honestly... What's surprising? ;)

That being said, I don't consider myself a fan of Lady Gaga for reasons unrelated to her music so it's not important to the review of her music. Born This Way is a great pop album with the occasional rock vibe, but it is not an epic album or the 'album of the decade' that some people say it is. I've been listening to the album since it leaked and so far I'm pretty much split down the middle of LOVING half the album, liking the majority of the rest, and hating Born This Way (the song not the album). Marry The Night, Government Hooker, Judas, Hair, Schiebe, and Bloody Mary are the most stand out tracks in my opinion. The only track I don't like is Born This Way because I don't like that people (non fans of Gaga) ask me if BTW is my "anthem" and it's far from. The rest of the album is good, but a bit underwhelming. Songs like Heavy Metal Lover and Electric Chapel have great instrumentals but just when you expect her to belt out singing, she stays on the same level. Does not make it a bad song, but it could have been better. The Fame Monster is definitely a much better album, but Born This Way is a great pop album. I highly recommend a listen, but it does not live up to the hype that surrounds Lady Gaga. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't like this album so much. Some tracks are fine, but I think there's no reinvention and, obviously, this is not the album of the decade.
"Marry The Night" is a good album welcome. It shows what we all will hear: electronic beats.
"Born This Way". I think this is the worst Lady GaGa's career single.
"Government Hooker". She tries to show a soprano voice, but it's actually her voice with more vibrations. Anyway, the track is fine. It's near to metal sound.
"Judas" is a mix of "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face". Nothing new, but the music.
"Americano" is easily contagious, but lyrics are nothing. "I don't speak your.. Jesus Christo"... What is that? Nice track, anyway.
With this album, we discovered that "Anatomy Of Change" was a remix of "ScheiÃ

The sounds are not good for the human ears. Lyrically senseless. Somehow religiously blatant. BUT THERE IS THIS GAGA WITH A HUGE VOCAL EVOLUTION! In this album, Gaga proved she is a singer. There are only few tracks on Born This Way that made me rate this a lot higher: Born This Way, The Edge Of Glory, You And I, and The Queen. These four tracks can stand alone! The rest ---- i don't like them.

And too much "awwwwwing". Seriously, it ruins so many of her songs, the little tricks she has to do on every single song. I cannot believe she called this the "album of the decade"... it is a mess. Terrible lyrics as well. Expand

While her first album was enjoyable, this effort seems... well, like no effort was put into it. The songs are generic and the shock factor is hardly shocking. The lyrics are so bad that in some instances, they derail a song that features a decent melody. If she spent more time being a singer and less time shocking the world with her odd-ball presence, this album would undoubtedly be a gem. While her first album was enjoyable, this effort seems... well, like no effort was put into it. Lady Gaga the one-hit wonder. This girl is the luckiest celebrity of all times i swear because she's the most overrated. Well, its good to be overrated rather than being underpaid but this is a trash material(Already disposed mine...Thank God it was only 99cent)

Album of the decade? More like Epic Fail of the decade. Like her first two studio efforts, this record is nothing but a collection of pandering clichés and rehashed, derivative music that attempts to lay claim to substance by championing a completely plastic "love yourself, be yourself" movement. Its not memorable in the slightest to me. Outside of Bloody Mary and a few other key tracks there is nothing that makes me wan to listen to this album more than one week at most. She peaked with The Fame Monster!

The Fame was a masterpiece. The Fame Monster was a disappointment. And Born This Way is absolutely terrible. The worst album i've ever heard. It's all crap. She thinks that if she wears crazy stuff and release an album with weird songs, she's brilliant. I prefer beyoncé and even Britney Spears above this

What a let-down... GaGa said this was going to be the 'Album of the Decade.' Well it is FAR from that. Only song that is good is 'The Edge of Glory.' I think GaGa tried too hard with this record.

Born this Way is not the greatest album of all the times and to be honest I heard better songs and music. Born this Way is a bad copy of Madonna's "Express Yourself".

This person has no talent.. her songs are recycled and changed... If you can't hear it then your just a moron for buying all her songs when they are the same. This person is the most over rated popstar ever and doesn't deserve to be in the charts.
Advice to Lady Gaga, produce better music.

This album is a mess. Only very few songs represent the real Gaga. You and I is probably the best song she has ever written. Lady Gaga should keep quiet and start doing something worthy of her talent.

Lady Gaga promised her fans (perhaps a tad prematurely) that her new album would be the greatest of the decade. But even if the next nine years bring something better, we're unlikely to hear anything bigger than Born This Way.

Born This Way feels like the first proper Lady Gaga album. [Aug. 2011, p. 114]

Gaga has always been able to anchor her haughty conceptual undertakings with simple, catchy tunes, but with Born This Way, the persona and the message are starting to bleed into the songs. It's not a good look.
