May 27, 2011BTW is not that bad, is all the way better than her old releases with no doubt, but i think she may be more strong and less full of herself when will make this, some songs are really good but others just dispossable, if the whole album have a artistic power that some songget may be flawless.

May 27, 2011Was she really born this way!?
What a massive 2 years. From the nervous girl who sat with Jonathan Ross on his sofa to the meat wearing music master! She has gone from strength to strength and more eccentric by the album. â -

Aug 11, 2011This album's great, but there's really only four songs you truly need from it: "Judas", "Born This Way", "Electric Chapel", and "Edge of Glory". Otherwise, it's just the usual Gaga fill-in we saw in THE FAME MONSTER.

May 4, 2012Lady Gaga's second attempt to a full-length album is extraordinary powerful, unique and interesting. "Born This Way" is a prayer to self-loving, tolerance and not being afraid of you really are, with a hint of glitter from the 80s while partying with heavy metal lovers. I believe it to be a stepping stone for future artists, a stimulus to try something new and different.

Nov 4, 2013My main problem with born this way is the fact that it consists of some of her greatest songs like The edge of glory and some of her worst. If The queen, highway unicorn and black jesus were cut this album would be higher for me.
-
Apr 3, 2015This album really lies between The Fame and The Fame Monster. It's a good album with a positive message and great production. The only concern I have about Born This Way is that the music gets repetitive after a while. This album earns a B from me. Highlights: "Born This Way", "The Edge of Glory", "Government Hooker". Worst song: "You and I"
-
Aug 15, 2017the record is so great, i love the way she makes something different from the other things, but i think there are so many fillers that could be descarted
-
May 29, 2020"Born This Way" might fall short of Gaga's previous projects but it brings forth a more mature, energetic, and fleshed out sound that fits well with her strong vocals.
-
Mar 4, 2017This is Gaga's most overrated album and everyone knows It. Born This Way has a great sound, but for me It's too long. Bad Kids, Black Jesus and a few other tracks are not good for this record.
The Edge Of Glory, Hair, Americano, Marry The Night and Yoü And I are the tracks that save this record (according to me) and show us for the first time how versatile Gaga's music can be. -

Nov 20, 2021Embora não seja o melhor trabalho de Gaga, Born This Way carrega um valor cultural importantÃssimo para a comunidade lgbtqiap+.
-

Nov 15, 2021Gaga has always been able to anchor her haughty conceptual undertakings with simple, catchy tunes, but with «Born This Way», the persona and the message are starting to bleed into the songs. It's not a good look. It lacks the overall quality of Robyn's «Body Talk» or the stand-out singles of Rihanna's «Loud», yet it's still packed with hooks, killer choruses and unexpected twists.

May 23, 2011Overwrought and overdone at times. But then again that is Gaga. She is best when she pulls back as with The Edge of Glory. This collection would have been served better with a a more conservative producer behind it to reel Gaga in a bit.At 17 tracks its a 6 at 11 its probably more an 8. Stand out tracks are Edge of Glory, the Petshopboys Abfab sound alike Sheibe, and Bad kids.

Feb 18, 2014Well, this album has an odd collection of tracks. I enjoyed some of the songs while others dragged on. Disliked the remix of 'Born This Way'. I'm not quite sure of what Lady Gaga's aims were for this album. The album fails, but does it in the most interesting way.

Jul 21, 2018With each album gaga takes a step forward and Born This Way is not the exception. this time he returns to the scene with a slightly darker and perhaps mature album that you will love if, or if.
-
Jul 24, 2020Mediocre album, but it has some of her best songs on it so it’s still listenable and I would recommend listen to it

Feb 20, 2012The sounds are not good for the human ears. Lyrically senseless. Somehow religiously blatant. BUT THERE IS THIS GAGA WITH A HUGE VOCAL EVOLUTION! In this album, Gaga proved she is a singer. There are only few tracks on Born This Way that made me rate this a lot higher: Born This Way, The Edge Of Glory, You And I, and The Queen. These four tracks can stand alone! The rest ---- i don't like them.

Jul 10, 2014De Gaga son mejores los vÃdeos que las canciones. Siempre. Este disco es otra muestra de ello.
Aparte, cada vez viste mas ridÃcula y extravagante, dentro de 5-10 años no sé que mas va a hacer... -
Jan 30, 2016Production aggressive, confused beats, lyrics that repeat along the tracks ... The few hymns found in "Born This Way" can to ensure the album a reasonable source of entertainment, but you can find similar tracks in best quality in discography classic pop artists.
-
Apr 25, 2016A not-so-good effort to show Lady Gaga's diversity. I can't even understand some of the songs purposes, and it's main track - Born This Way - fails into be a convicent single.
-
Feb 13, 2017É um bom album, mas ele nao me agrada, nao gosto muito de albuns com batidas eletronicas, mas tem faixas otimas tambem, porem ainda prefiro os outros exceto o the fame que é o pior
-
Feb 15, 2021This is clearly a fan album, for anyone who really loves Gaga and that will never be disappointed by her. For the others, other than the singles, it's just a esquizofrenic and boring album.

-
May 26, 2011The 'Use Your Illusion' of 2011 pop: Aside from a few standout tracks, it's mediocre, and meandering without purpose. GaGa obviously has talent, but songs aren't that great, and the music is an unfortunate merge of generic club thumping, recycled 80's beats and Phoenix-style electronica.
-
May 31, 2011Terrible album, it feels like I'm listening to the same song through the whole thing... not good Gaga. The Fame was amazing and now this? Sorry, I'm not buying it.

Sep 19, 2011Being not a Gaga hater but agreeing on the point that she always tries too hard, I think this album totally lacks the edge that her first album really had. A step backward. My ears cannot listen to anything amazing here.

Apr 26, 2012I realllllyyyyy just didn't like this album. There are some songs on here that are just really "ok". She lost her style on this album. She experimented where she didn't need/ or have to. "Marry The Night" is the best one. Otherwise, I'm not sure how to classify this utter mess.
-
Nov 21, 2016when it's good, it's incredible. when it's bad, it's terrible. a really polarizing, too-drawn-out album with a few fantastic tracks.
the best: marry the night, you and i, the edge of glory, hair -

May 23, 2011This is a really poor album. There are approximately 4 good songs out of 14 here. The rest are a bunch of club bangers that range from awful to just below mediocre. I just can't recommend this to anyone, and I don't see the hype.
-
Jul 1, 2011This album sounds like the work of a follower and not a leader. Whereas The Fame and The Fame Monster were guilty pleasures, Born This Way is simply torture.
-
Sep 10, 2011Most of the songs make no sence. "Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)", "Judas", "Bloody Mary"... Are these jokes? The only song which is really worth it to listen to is "Americano".
-
Mar 19, 2012Very few noteworthy songs. The album is far too pretentious and fails to deliver the catchy dance anthems which fans and critics had come to love. The singles were far too simple, there are a few songs which save the album, Edge Of Glory + Scheisse for example. Worth a listen but don't buy into the hype.
-
Mar 20, 2012This album is a mess and disappointing. I expected much more of Gaga, now I know that Lady Gaga is overrated. Songs like Judas, ScheiÃ

Feb 3, 2014In her violent dance / pop music, Lady Gaga never gives way to subtlety. "Born this way" is like a wrecking ball with monumental beats, disco chorus without any originality and empty and demagogic lyrics. Lady Gaga concept : or you love, or you hate, or you just don't give a damn about it; personally, that's my case.

Jun 30, 2021BAD specially after a huge great debut. It was still a success just because it was Lady Gaga at that time.
-
May 23, 2011All the chorus' sound the same. Few great tracks. Some don't even cut mediocre. Too many similar themes - i'm sure the unicorn one is just an extension of Marry the Night. Judas and Government Hooker stand out amongst numerous 80's b-sides.

Jan 27, 2012The songs are almost a recycling or reuse of Fame Monster. They do not sound as natural as before, are not spontaneous, some are saved, but give a headache continues. Lady GaGa has promised much but turned all the way to a kind of public.
-
Mar 27, 2012I fail to see what the praise about. It's mediocre at best, and it comes across as pretentious, almost patronizing. Could barely sit through the album...I cannot stress enough how OVERDONE it is. Ugh. Was never a fan of Gaga before, certainly not one now.
-
Oct 23, 2013definitely a slight disappointment, this record is all over the place and the rock-european pop crossover just feels wrong and overproduced. Lady gaga is a very capable vocalist but her vocals get drowned in the very uninspired production. Bloody Mary, government hooker and heavy metal lover are actually good-quality tracks, but the rest feels just like album-fillers...

May 23, 2011Disgusting... sick and boring, all the songs sound exactly the same... But for her freaking monsters, It will be "OMG the best album of the century"... they're too blind to see reality, hopefully I can see one or two wakening up... Thank God I've seen critics giving the reviews this disgusting album deserves... I'm not in love with Gaga, I won't ever be and this album SUCKS!
-
May 24, 2011All the chorus' and underlying beats sound the same, cohesive, but the same. A lot of anticipation was built up for this album as she garnered it the "Album of the Decade"... Didn't live up to her own conceited hype. Oh yeah, and I thought Madonna released this album 20 years ago?
-
May 25, 2011
-
Mar 28, 2012An album with so much potential completely spoiled by the insufferable pretense of the woman who made it. This is a cautionary tale of what happens to a megastar when they start believing their own hype.
-
Aug 3, 2012Tired, repetitive, generic album. The only people who can enjoy this terrible album are her Little Monsters. The only song that keeps me from giving the album a zero is The Edge of Glory.
-
Apr 26, 2013Horrible album. I did give it a 1/10 because Government Hooker is among the best songs she's ever done. Other than that, nothing else is really great (or even good).
-
Nov 6, 2013This album is a hypocrisy. She needs to stop forcing be epic and come back as in The Fame and The Fame Monster. Born This Way is a great song, but the only. Judas was the worst single of her career. Ever.
-
Oct 17, 2016
-
Jun 30, 2011This is an inconsistent mess. Really GaGa? This is NOT the "Album of the Decade" as she so claimed it would be. Only song that is good is The Edge of Glory
-
Aug 1, 2011I've changed my mind. Definitely a 0
-
May 24, 2011@ cliff55: tiny mix tapes giving this a zero does not mean they are unprofessional, their review was far well written than 70% of the other critics here.
-
May 23, 2011While her vocals are a strong point, everything else is bland, repetitive, and unoriginal. Worst-written album of the year by far. Filled with cliche banalities that should make even the most dedicated little monster shudder.

Jun 19, 2011Lady Gaga the one-hit wonder. This girl is the luckiest celebrity of all times i swear because she's the most overrated. Well, its good to be overrated rather than being underpaid but this is a trash material(Already disposed mine...Thank God it was only 99cent)
-
Jun 17, 2011
-
Jun 30, 2011Its not memorable in the slightest to me. Outside of Bloody Mary and a few other key tracks there is nothing that makes me wan to listen to this album more than one week at most. She peaked with The Fame Monster!
-
Jun 29, 2011Uh wtf is this gaga? were you the one that came up with the fame?? Doesn't seem like it anymore, trash musi is what this is, sorry, not a monster anymore 'til you come up with something good again.

Jul 13, 2011The Fame was a masterpiece. The Fame Monster was a disappointment. And Born This Way is absolutely terrible. The worst album i've ever heard. It's all crap. She thinks that if she wears crazy stuff and release an album with weird songs, she's brilliant. I prefer beyoncé and even Britney Spears above this
-
Aug 19, 2011What a let-down... GaGa said this was going to be the 'Album of the Decade.' Well it is FAR from that. Only song that is good is 'The Edge of Glory.' I think GaGa tried too hard with this record.
-
Sep 10, 2011Born this Way is not the greatest album of all the times and to be honest I heard better songs and music. Born this Way is a bad copy of Madonna's "Express Yourself".
-
Sep 15, 2011This person has no talent.. her songs are recycled and changed... If you can't hear it then your just a moron for buying all her songs when they are the same. This person is the most over rated popstar ever and doesn't deserve to be in the charts.
Advice to Lady Gaga, produce better music. -
Oct 8, 2011This album is a mess. Only very few songs represent the real Gaga. You and I is probably the best song she has ever written. Lady Gaga should keep quiet and start doing something worthy of her talent.
Awards & Rankings
-
Sep 25, 2014Lady Gaga promised her fans (perhaps a tad prematurely) that her new album would be the greatest of the decade. But even if the next nine years bring something better, we're unlikely to hear anything bigger than Born This Way.
-
Q MagazineAug 8, 2011Born This Way feels like the first proper Lady Gaga album. [Aug. 2011, p. 114]
