I don't know who arranged the vocals, but so much more could have been reached. Now it's like only 25% of their competent is used. Mostly one singer sings, backed up by silly background choirs. Beautiful harmonies together, powerful as lead vocalists and back-ups...brilliant lyrics, heartwarming with some major musical muscle. What a dynamic collaboration.

As fine a record as you're likely to hear in 2016. [No. 132, p.54]

It’s not at all certain that this lovely, gentle record will ever get a follow-up--fortunately, it already sounds damn-near timeless.

A varied and largely successful meeting of minds, this is peer-review done right, and the prospect of it influencing future solo outings from Case, lang and Veirs is golden.
