This is a phenomenal record, definitely on par with her previous ones. You can tell that Agnes has grown a lot since her debut, both as a composer and a vocalist. While the songs here are perhaps slightly less accessible and instant, "Citizen of Glass" has a lot of replay value and it manages to impress me more with every time I listen to it.

Maybe the high quality of previous Obel's albums is the problem in here. I can't feel the innovation with this record because the tracks are too lazy. I feel that the songwriting it's great, but the songs are just ok. There's no catchy moments like "Dorian" or "September Song" from the amazing "Avantine". "Citizien Of Glass" it's a sweet job, but not impressive.

The songs on Citizen Of Glass feel more solid and lyrically grounded in the known world. [No. 138, p.59]

Her third album finds her developing her instrumental palette, often allowing moody strings rather than piano to dominate arrangements. [Jan 2017, p.28]

Citizen of Glass is like entering a misty realm of wonder where each unpredictable turn holds a new set of unknowns.
