Stellar return, hotly anticipated for so, so long and absolutely worth the wait. Cry Cry Cry is one big, beautiful, thoughtful, relevant, catchy, silly, heartfelt, moving, rockin' proggy weird-ass danceable earworm, my friends. Who could ask for anything more? For god's sake, go buy this already.

What a comeback ! Cry Cry Cry has all the aspects of what Wolf Parade has ever been. Every member shine through the whole album and i hardly find some weak place. Maybe is not as good as Apologies To The Queen Mary, but is very close to it. Production is sophisticated and you will enjoy all of the songs. This is a serious contender for Best Indie Rock Album of the Year along with TheWhat a comeback ! Cry Cry Cry has all the aspects of what Wolf Parade has ever been. Man, what a stunner. I wasn't sure if Wolf Parade would ever be back but holy hell are they back. It grips you from the beginning and doesn't let go, by the time the album ends you'll need a deep breath. I've had Baby Blue stuck in my head all night.

The shock factor of the music’s long form composition through slowly evolving improvisatory jams ultimately made this a success, especially with nice piano movement and saxophone solos, but the interest only came after wading through long stretches of a false verse-chorus form that rarely had anything engaging in the songwriting structure, making the codas just barely worth the wait. Cry, Cry, Cry is an amazing album. Somehow, Wolf Parade has captured the uneasiness and modern desperation of our times with a sound that is very much theirs, which is highly remarkable. Finally, all I can say is that it was worthwhile. Truly worthwhile.

One of the best this year, and instantly my favorite. For one band, two songwriters all crafted great songs in such harmonious but different styles. I love their earlier albums, but absolutely treasure what Wolf has made here.

The easiest way to say it is that there’s no barrier between despair and euphoria in these songs--which contain both, equally, simultaneously and without contradiction.

The band’s maturity doesn’t soften Cry Cry Cry’s many thrills. Cry Cry Cry can’t change the issues it speaks of on its own, but its energy is more than enough to mobilize those who listen.

Musically, it is not quite extraordinary, yet this could all change in a live setting, and it remains a more than worthy return for a group who are experts in their craft.
