Deserves no higher than a three maybe, his worst project to date to be sure. Not even acknowledging his latest disaster.

This album is a very beautiful expression of Kendrick's views and mindsets with everyone's opinions on him and how lost he's been feeling. This isn't as strong as his best album, TPAB, but it is still up there with his best. Some of Kendrick's best work is on this album too.

PERFECT. that's the only world necessary to describe something like this. A complete masterpiece; difficult to understand all the project but if you decide to listen, you need to analyze.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. PERFECTO. GRACIAS KENDRICK, GRACIAS DAMN. Y GRACIAS A TODOS POR SU TIEMPO Expand

The best album from one of the best rappers in history. Kendrick is a brilliant mind and he expresses it in every song on this masterpiece.

This is without a doubt my favorite Kendrick album. If you say TPAB or GKMC is better, you're probably right, but that doesn't take away from this albums perfectness

8.4/10 - Production and lyricism are very strong on this album and in my opinion the best from recent Kendrick Lamar Albums and Hip Hop of course. i can't help but feel disappointed a little bit. however i feel that kendrick made mr. morale and the big steppers to better highlight the themes here because both albums made me feel the same things but to differing severities with myself being more connected to mr morale

Right off the bat, this album is very radio-hit heavy with songs like DNA, HUMBLE, and LOVE, with each of those songs being energetic and radio friendly for the most part. Even though those songs are energetic, that does not mean they lack depth. Even though those songs are energetic, that does not mean they lack depth. DNA vividly describes issues facing our society like racism and gang violence, reminiscent of To Pimp a Butterfly, Kendrick's previous album. DUCKWORTH is one of the greatest songs of all time in my opinion, describing fate and how if one thing had not happened in Kendrick's life, he would have never become the incredible rapper we know today. Overall this album is extremely introspective with tracks like DUCKWORTH, FEAR, and FEEL, with the latter being the most introspective, describing his issues with the system and the lack of care for him personally from his fans and critics alike. The only thing holding this album back is the very commonly liked track on this album, LOVE. It lacks substance and while it is a beautifully composed song, it just doesn't fit on this album for me. Other than that, this album is near flawless. Expand

Perhaps his greatest album ever, this is the work that claimed and solidified Kendricks place as the greatest rapper of all time and amongst the greatest artists of all time. It is rare, if ever, that rap reaches a place of godliness, meaning, poetic eloquence, emotion, cultural significance, and story telling, simultaneously, yet DAMN. does that and more.

Kendrick Lamar's album DAMN. is an incredible album. Easily one of the greatest rap albums of all time. Humble is an outstanding record. Kendrick's vocals on this track are some of his best, making it one of the best rap songs ever. The music video for this song is also one of his best. Kendrick and Rihanna's vocals on the track loyalty are also some of the best I've seen.

Many amazing songs on this album but the tone gets lost for me in some parts. Hearing Kendrick try to get more radio plays is distracting at times.

Probably my favourite Kung Fu Kenny album in terms of replay value after its predecessor. This one hit the streets like crack when it dropped and still hits. Front to back, back to front, he displays some of his most catchiest and infectious sound of his goated career. Another masterpiece!

A less deranged response to celebrity than Kanye West’s Yeezus, more imaginative than Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP or Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III, it shares with the former an economy of form, and with the latter two the giddy energy of an artist coming into perfect sync with their audience. It’s also a sumptuous sounding pop record, polite streamlined mass market psychedelia. [Jun 2017, p.64]

DAMN. sees the rapper make a 180 degree turn from the sprawling jazz/funk/hip-hop odyssey of TPAB to deliver 14 taut, tough and wise cutting-edge examples of what’s possible in hip-hop today. ... Essential stuff.
