-
Jul 22, 2021Overall, a solid album. There are a couple bangers, a lot of songs that are pretty good, and some ok songs. There aren't any songs that are horrendously bad or anything like that. If you like Janelle Monae already, it's a must-buy, but I don't consider it to be like ~the album of the century~ by any means.
-
Jun 28, 2021Perfeito!!!! O álbum não possui uma música ruim, tem R&B, hip hop, pop, tudo em um álbum só!

Jan 24, 2021Some great songs on here, every song is definitely unique, but I didn’t love all of them. Overall I would definitely give it another listen some time and I’m excited for Janelle’s future projects she is definitely a star in the making. She’s like a modern day Prince almost.
-
Dec 12, 2020This album has great production and lyrics. Standout tracks:”make me feel”, “crazy, classic life” and “American”.
-
Nov 28, 2020Pure artistry from Janelle, yet again! Dirty Computer is a breath of fresh air every time I re-listen. Lyrically it's amazing and sonically it's tight and consistently sounds fresh. An incredible listen!
-
Sep 18, 2020We’re lucky to live in the same time as this woman. Janelle Monáe is one of a kind. Her voice speaks for many and her talent amazes us all. Dirty Computer is a special pop record. I’m not gonna review it properly, just listen to Django Jane. That song is everything.
-
Jun 12, 2020A cohesive political and surprising project, full of intriguing melodies and lyrics. Sometimes, those melodies don't build up to something better, or even something you expected. The rap parts are a highlight on this album. Well done.
-
Jun 9, 2020Incrivel! Coesão e aclamação, injustiçada no grammy o murro na academia q é racista old do old
-
Mar 27, 2020A beautifully crafted album! Loved it from start to finish!! Janelle Monáe showing again why she’s one of the few who really love their craft!
-
Feb 10, 2020Such a masterpiece. Pharrell's best work to do, and the songs — it's so good, I think I'm out of the world. My favorite songs are "I Like That" & "Screwed". I'll be so happy if 'Dirty Computer' wins Album of the Year at the GRAMMYs!
-

-
Oct 22, 2019New Janelle's album is the first that I heard from her and I got to say it's really great album. I had maybe one little problem while listening but overall it's solid 9/10 from me.
-
Sep 20, 2019Janelle brings something new not just to her discography, but to all music. And she still develops her abilities. We stun!

May 30, 2019A maior qualidade de Dirty Computer é a forma direta como dialoga com seu tempo. Mesmo com o alto teor político, Janelle Monáe consegue fazer um funk-pop capaz de divertir.
-
Mar 20, 2019The album is great. It's what a pop album should be in a perfect world. She was severly missed in music while she was away.

Sep 16, 2018This is a splendid break-into-the-mainstream album, since it's both sassy and vulnerable, it claims respect for women, black people and the LGBT yet it also invites you to dance.
-
Sep 5, 2018One of the best albums to come out this year, Dirty Computer manages to blend a wide variety of styles but is at the same time a cohesive story about her experiences as a queer black woman. Her vocal timbre, the production, the songwriting, everything just CLICKS.
-
Aug 14, 2018Janelle Monáe is a pop artist that deserves to listened to with too much attention. Here you can abstract excellent bass lines and rhythm sections, fresh and dancing harmonic lines in a kind of Prince's modern sonority with a sense of more palpable accessibility. You can't deny that's one of the year's album, if not is.
-
Aug 11, 2018Janelle Monáe can't release bad album, she always do her best. Dirty Computer is example. Masterpiece with genius idea must have any nominations in general categories at Grammy 2019. Without a doubt, I can say that Dirty Computer is album of the year.
-
Jul 23, 2018Masterpiece. So happy Monae did it. She's just so talent, and this album is as good as ArchAndroid. Album of the year, no doubt of it
-
Jul 23, 2018The songwriting isn't good for the majority of the album. I think everyone is aware of that, but they try to forget once they support some of the messages.
-
Jul 17, 2018This album is well in the lead for 2018 album of the year. Strong in concept, strong in character, strong in its message. But most of all it's good and fun music. Janelle was truly in the zone when she put this album together. Best songs: Crazy Classic Life, Dirty Computer, Take a Byte, Screwed, I like That, Don't Judge Me, Americans.
-
Jul 14, 2018Catchy, sick grooves, nice production, and overall a great theme across the album. I enjoy the personality of Janelle across the album and the concept as well. I love the funky grooves and Prince inspired songs. It's a solid album. One of the best this year.
-
Jul 6, 2018I do not like !. Uninspired. Annoying. Unoriginal and most of all, unnecessary.
-
Jul 4, 20182nd best album of 2018 so far, Christina Aguilera's Liberation being the 1st.
Highlights: "Dirty Computer", "Crazy, Classic, Life", "Pynk", "I Like That". Didn't feel some of the tracks. -
Jun 29, 2018
-
Jun 2, 2018This is the second best album of Janelle because I don't know why I'm sorry but The ArchAndroid is better than Dirty Computer, I'm SORRY FOR YOU, Ya no te operes más mima no necesitas tanta madre, when I heard it, yo quedé anonadada quedé estupefacta, terrora y la horrora y el PUro TOdo melodrama
-
May 30, 2018A brave lyrical and musical effort which makes me want to explore her music further; I feel that this may be a more commercial release and some of this is a bit too mainstream RnB for my taste. All the same, some great music here - 'Don't Judge Me' is masterful.
-
May 29, 2018Very dumbed down and/or irritating sloganeering dominates, and the melodies/arrangements are shamelessly derivative. 'ArchAndroid' offered a lot more, this seems an exercise in trying to appeal to the LCD wherever possible.
-
May 28, 2018I like Janelle Monae, but her recordings leave a lot to be desired TO ME. I was not impressed with "Dirty Computer". I didn't like it sonically or lyrically.
-
May 27, 2018
-
May 25, 2018
-
May 18, 2018an ambitious but very accomplished work, the production is impeccable and with current writing, but her r&b base can become somewhat monotonous.
-
May 17, 2018i m from south korea. Many fans of R&B and black music in south korea havs also evaluate that this album is unbelievable. it s the master piece!
-
May 17, 2018Lyrically substantial, as usual. Melodically intriguing, yet some part of a few songs inadequate to build a masterpiece (read: mediocre), made them worth skipping. Regardless of those significant flaws, some songs are so evocative and solid in production like 'Screwed', 'Django Jane', 'PYNK', 'Make Me Feel', 'I Like That', 'Don't Judge Me' and 'So Afraid'.
-
May 16, 2018Muito consistente, criativo, com ótimas batida e muitas referências. Muito além do tempo, mas te faz voltar no tempo.
-
May 15, 2018Another Masterpiece by Janelle Monae. It's About Freedom, Love and being a real woman
pynk is amazing and the movie is really great too -
May 13, 2018Janelle Monáe has a radiant spirit and it translates very well into her new album 'Dirty Computer'. She has an infectious confidence and a lot to say, but I still believe that Janelle's best work is yet to come.
-
May 9, 2018A flawless production that, like her other works, is bound to be continually listened to for years and years to come. Art.
-

May 6, 2018This is the album of the year! LOOOVEEE ITTTT and all the songs are fire and this cover art is GORGEOUS!
-
May 5, 2018
-
May 5, 2018Dirty Computer champions the confluence of an attractive production and a socio-political writing—two things that most artists have been trying to pull off; Less succeeded, and Dirty Computer is one of the few that feels triumphant and earnest.
-
May 2, 2018Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same. totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, **** on it, vomit on it, eat it and give birth to it.
-
May 2, 2018This is a masterpiece, every detail in this new project is beyond perfect. The themes she explores, her honesty, her truth, her story and her voice are so captivating. Catchy songs, great lyrics and why not to mention the visuals, Janelle Monáe is celebrating herself, her background and everyone who's around her. I can say this is the album of the year with any doubt.
-
May 2, 2018
-
May 1, 2018DIRTY COMPUTER is one of this decade's best yet most underrated project ever released. The lyrics, melody, and visuals of the album are all able to catch the attention of the listeners, and overall the album is extremely well crafted, deep, insightful, and necessary.
-
May 1, 2018This is one of the most unlikable albums I've heard all year. Clearly pandering to critics, annoying lyrics, super pretentious writing, musically boring. Only good song on here was Make Me Feel, which incidentally has no relevance to the rest of the album because 1. It's just a fun song with no preachy message and 2. It's actually good.
-
May 1, 2018
-
May 1, 2018Best album of the year so far and it's hard to beat it. I can see her wining Grammy for Album Of The Year.
-

-
Apr 30, 2018
-
Apr 30, 2018She, as always, is showing versatility in her new album. The variety of genres that I can feel in this album make me want to dance every single song. I have to admit that the last songs of the record are better in lyrics and the first ones are better in voice management. Very well balanced and a b lessing for my ears.
-
Apr 30, 2018
-
Apr 30, 2018This is pure perfection, pop perfection, R&B perfection,
Rap/Hip-hop perfection! It's incredible what she did with the lyrics and synths they match in a way I'd never seen before! It has a message, but It's not full of militance like Beyonce's Lemonade, It has a sexy and cool part. It is Art in its pure form. -
Apr 30, 2018I appreciate this album for it's production, monae's performance and being full-concentrated on it's issue but totally, incomparable with her previous masterpiece album ''the archandroid". I'm afraid she is turning to an one-division person. I expect her more various subjects.also I hate that she's a woman worshiper. she is not looking for equality, she's trying to see women top of men.
-
Apr 30, 2018THIS IS THE ALBUM OF THE MILLENNIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):)
-
Apr 30, 2018This is my album of the year. Best album I've listened to all year. The themes and messages on this album is amazing!
-
Apr 30, 2018AMAZING! I Love this album. This is the album of the year! Dirty Computer is a masterpiece
-
Apr 30, 2018Definitely Album of the Year worthy! Cohesion, production & substance, excellently served by Ms. Monae. (Grammys just don't sleep on her.)
-
Apr 30, 2018escutei um amem? nota verde, hoje, amanha, sempre, mostra como ser feminista Janelle, Beyoncé sonha com isso.
-
Apr 30, 2018This album is fantastic. The message is crystal clear, the transitions are on point, the songs are various, from viby Pynk to the beautiful Don't Judge Me ballad.
Favourite song from the album is I Like That. Also love the pair Screwed-Django Jane, that really HAVE TO be listened to together.
Janelle's work here really deserves some reward -
Apr 29, 2018This album has blown my entire expectations. Janelle Monaé has blessed the world with World class music. Underrated masterpiece. Grammy deserving.
-
Apr 29, 2018Surely 'Album of the Year' beckons from the Grammys..........pure class. Just wow.
-
Apr 29, 2018This is ALBUM OF THE YEAR right here. I was a bit scared before listening because it had been so long since The Electric Lady, but this was certainly worth the wait! Janelle keeps her sci-fi theme going, but brings many songs to a very, very personal level, making this album an absolute keeper. Favourite tracks: Crazy Classic Life, Django Jane, Pynk, I Like That
-
Apr 28, 2018I've played this album repeatedly. It's a must have this year. Tune the world out with some lights out and just play. This album can be played throughout. There isn't a song to skip and you don't get that a lot nowadays. My picks: Dirty Computer, Take a Byte, Django Jane, PYNK, I Like That, Don't Judge Me, Make Me Feel (10/10)
-
Apr 28, 2018Sincerely I do not expected anything about this album but I listened and my opinion is that is a album with clear sound, simple but at the same time well cared for. I like their lyrics, the voices in off and the and the atmosphere that you create when you listen to it
-
Apr 28, 2018The album is definitely a grower, however it is a masterpiece. At times it does get cringy when it mentions politics though lmao. The 'emotion picture' definitely explains the concept.
-
Apr 28, 2018This album is so amazing, Janelle Monae is so creative, so talent, so innovator, it's the best record i've heard all year.
-
Apr 28, 2018Best album so far. I listened to it first and then watched the motion picture that’s available on youtube, and saw various interviews in which Janelle explained everything. It is so well constructed. The songs, the visual representing each song, the wardrobe, the effects, the transitions to each story and how the story is told is very engaging. Congrats to her and her team. Amazing work!
-
Apr 28, 2018Janelle Monáe was kind enough to give us the best album of the year. No words, only legends.
-
Apr 28, 2018Hinário demais. Amei os singles e as outras faixas também, principalmente I Got The Juice.
-
Apr 28, 2018is a good album, a very important message, a different sound, but I did not like it so much, it's not an album that I'm going to listen to but the work done on this album is incredible and certainly worthy of all acclaim
-
Apr 28, 2018Dirty Computer is a masterpiece. Every song is completely different and every song is saying something. Janelle makes this album her most personal to date, talking about her sexuality, racism, discovering herself, etc. This is one of the best albums of the year, but it will be possibly the best. Don't judge me and I´m afraid really broke my heart.
-
Apr 28, 2018A truly phenomenal album, the lyric-lovers will not be disapointed, and, above all, those looking for great music and true art will be delighted.
-
Apr 28, 2018OMG! This is so amazing!!!!! Queen Janelle.
Album of the year confirmed. My favs: PYNK, Django Jane -
Apr 28, 2018thanks to janelle. this album is the perfect mix of the archandroid and electric lady. all of the good feelings we heard in her last records are expressed in dirty computer, and it makes this album so special and amazing.
-
Apr 28, 2018A good album, but not something so superb or excellent in my opinion.
Janelle Monáe has a very good voice and here you can listen different music styles, but...that's all. -
Apr 28, 2018arguably the best album of the year so far. this is the best homage to queerness, femininity & unapologetic blackness. and the emotion picture give even more life to the music, I've recently became a fan this year along with this new era and this album secured me as a Janelle stan. incredible concept, amazing music composing & exquisite writing. I could go on & on... this is musical perfection.
-
Apr 27, 2018While this album is absolutely fabulous, it is definitely not her best. The songs invoke emotion and flow together amazing and the story they tell is beautiful. BUT, it is shown in ArchAndroid that her ability to weave together songs into a story is much better than what was shown here. I adore this album but it waa missing that certain Monaé charm that she had in ArchAndroid.
-
Apr 27, 2018This album is well in the lead for 2018 album of the year.
-
Apr 27, 2018
-
Apr 27, 2018dirty computer is THAT POP PERFECTION, Best work from janelle ever. ever song is a bop
-
Apr 27, 2018A cohesive, feel good album thats amazing from start to finish! Janelle has done it again!
-
Apr 27, 2018My personal Album of the Year! Such a perfect masterpiece. Even though female empowerment through female sexuality is nothing new, the use of queerness in her lyrics and visuals is just bold and outstanding. Personal favs: Screwed, Django Jane, PYNK, I Like That.
-
Apr 27, 2018I really enjoyed this album, the lyrical content, the production, the cohesiveness, Janelle is a true artist and this album proves that
-
Apr 27, 2018
-
Apr 27, 2018Monae continues to be so far ahead of her time. Much like The ArchAndroid, Dirty Computer is likely to be the type of album you listen to many years later and think about how there is still nothing out there that sounds anything like it. A revolutionary album from a revolutionary woman who continues to deconstruct societal barriers and constructions through her music.
-
Apr 27, 2018This is already album of the year. Janelle Monae back with pure genius. Reflects the times perfectly - as art should be doing.
Awards & Rankings
-
Oct 5, 2018Hints of Michael Jackson's melodic moonwalking lace in the type of hip-hop ennui that will appeal to fans of Solange's A Seat at the Table, plus a sexy swagger of feminist liberation that screams 2018.
-
The WireJul 13, 2018She mostly succeeds at marrying that [transcendent black pop] to a sound that’s broader and more accessible than anything she’s put out to date. [Jul 2018, p.53]
-
Jun 27, 2018After navigating complex matrices of identity under an indulgent, accessible veneer, Dirty Computer is ultimately--even “simply”--a cathartic assertion of self in a hostile system.
