This is one of the most influential rock albums of all time. It's so weird and catchy and wonderful. It's been featured in movies and television. It's like aliens beamed down from the future back into the late 80's and made an album. I love that one of the people who wrote a zero review said "it doesn't differentiate from any other modern song." It's not modern at all, but it made the modern sound! Popular music in 1989 was Warrant and Milli Vanilli... This album created and defined a lot of the parameters for the entire indie scene. All that modern music you're complaining about, well you can thank the Pixies for it. Expand

What the fudge with the zero reviews here?! This is just one of THE best albums ever made! Full stop. Period. Whatever. I know people will say 'everyone's entitled to their own opinion etc.' but why review an album if you're not a fan of that genre of music? I wouldn't go to Taylor Swift's album review and slag it off with a zero review score because I'm not a fan of that type of music,What the fudge with the zero reviews here?! Anyway, Doolittle is brilliant and all the extras just make it brilliant-er. So there. Expand

This is a 10/10. Unique album to this day. The people who gave it a zero know absolutely nothing about music (one of them said it sounded like any song nowadays-dafuq?). One of the best albums ever. Sounds as fresh as when it was initially released. Hugh influence on tons of bands, artists (e.g. Kurt Cobain, Chris Martin, Thom Yorke,...) Listen to this and be amazed.

Is this the greatest Indie Rock album of all time or what? After the scarily good Surfer Rosa, it's follow up has the pop sensibilities that allow it to have a wider appeal but at the same time keeps plenty of elements of the raw sounds that made this band so special. Doolittle is a perfect record. It's got the anger and rage but in a happy way. It rocks hard the whole way through. It'sIs this the greatest Indie Rock album of all time or what? The playing on it is great - Kim Deals vocals work at their best with Black Francis' here. Instead of naming key tracks and highlights I'll just tell you that until you've listened to this record a few times, you simply haven't lived. Simply one of the greatest albums ever made. The fact that Nirvana and Radiohead (among many others) have called it one of their biggest influences should tell you all you need to know. Doolittles songs manages to be catchy, innovative, shocking and nuanced all at the same time. I was amazed by this album when I first heard it and 25 years on ther's still nothing quite like it!

It's a glorious thing - a triumph. It's tough to imagine any other indie rock album that is better than this one. It's... it's just everything.

Crap just like most of the modern songs nowadays. It just doesn't differentiate from any other modern song. It's the same crap you hear everyday, everywhere.

I just don't like this kind of music, nothing personal. But, however, I guess this is a good album, not the best there's around, but still a nice one if you like such a thing.

What can I say? Doolittle has influenced modern music, for better or worse. Not that I mind, anyway.

What can i say that hasn't been said about this classic? This album is in all meaning of the word perfect. Standing comfortably as one of the most influential rock albums of all time from a band that would inspire the likes of thom york and kurt cobain. I will never forget discovering this after my nirvana obsession lead me to "sufer rosa". This is a weird amalgamation of violence, religious imagery and debauchery. The record os an untethered head bashing rave with crystalline production that doesn't feel inauthentic to their rougher previous sounds . In fact they improve upon the idiosyncratic loud quiet signature they'd pioneered on the weird seminal "sufer rosa". They are so many high points here such as on the bombastic Salvador Dali enamored opener "debaser" or the hypnotic rhythm of "hey" sexually disturbing jaunt. Kim deal more prominent moments do not slack as expected after "gigantic " did most of the heavy lifting in their previous catalogue and "I bleed " is just as good if not alienating. "Wave of mutilation " is a breezy San Francisco current warm with a darker grimy beneath in the form of a suicide . There is always something good to find here . It's a triumph.

Gg This album is a 10.0. I’d say it occupies 25% of my music listening. The other 75% by Anima, In Rainbows, and Kid A lol.

The fact that this album brings me back to it time and time again is a testament to its timelessness. Recently being able to get my hands on the 25th anniversary edition with the peel sessions and the demos only adds to its strengths in my mind.

The seething, sweat-drenched yet shiny Doolittle is the complete package--and still a reason to believe. [Jan 2015, p.108]

Doolittle 25 captures the best of this alt-rock landmark and offers up enough goodies to justify a full-blown celebration.
