Oct 11, 2011Seriously one of my favorite albums of the year. Champions a matured version of the chillwave sound, proudly displaying lo-fi influence, among songs as versatile in style as ranging from a psy-folk sound, to bare acoustic, to ambient or purely electronic in nature. Personally I enjoyed it more than any Grizzly Bear album, and am quite surprised by its relatively lukewarm reception.

MagnetNov 11, 2011The lack of focus and discernible melodies keeps CANT from being anything more than an interesting diversion. [#81, p. 53]

Q MagazineNov 8, 2011It's stunning stuff. The bar for the next Grizzly Bear album, already high after Veckatimist, is raised another notch. [Nov. 2011, p. 128]

Oct 20, 2011Taylor isn't pushing the limits of pop so much as flattening and stretching them out until they evaporate into nothingness. He creates a dreamy mood, but you may not be awake by the end.
