susanfJul 4, 2007Love it and have been waiting for it's release since I heard of the project! His voice melts me and it's definitely better than listening to Dylan singing these tunes.

JBeebeeJul 1, 2007Sublime, As Bob Dylan is by far my favorite artist, I have only ciritcal ears when someone "covers" the master... Bryan Ferry delights and I only wish he would have covered Not Dark Yet and perhaps Sugar Baby, etc. 1st play put a smile on my face after a rough day, and frequent plays only sound better and move this abum into a spot in my cd library along Bobs CDs.. Well done! Gates of Eden 10+

PerineauR.Jul 15, 2007As with any great tribute album the songs are different enough to stand on their own but they also add to your appreciation of the originals. It's hard to add to the appreciation I already have of Dylan but it heightened originals I'd somehow overlooked, especially Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues. Make You Feel My Love is beautiful and haunting. This disc gets better with every listen.

Far be it for the imaginative contrarian to retrace Dylan's steps, and sure enough--despite an omnipresent harmonica--Ferry does just the opposite.

There's a tasteful shimmer over all the tracks.

Purists may cry sacrilege, but the Roxy Music singer vastly improves Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues and All Along the Watchtower by imbuing their edgy agitation with his classicist pop sensibility.
