    I'm not familiar with much of Foo Fighter's work. In fact this is their first album I've heard in full, but I'm not really getting the hype with these guys. The Pretender is a fantastic song, best Foo Fighters song I've heard by far! And Long Road to Ruin is a good song, but besides those two tracks, I'm not really getting anything from this album. And I can say that for Foo Fighters as aI'm not familiar with much of Foo Fighter's work. In fact this is their first album I've heard in full, but I'm not really getting the hype with these guys. The Pretender is a fantastic song, best Foo Fighters song I've heard by far! And Long Road to Ruin is a good song, but besides those two tracks, I'm not really getting anything from this album. And I can say that for Foo Fighters as a whole. Most of the other songs I've heard from them don't give me anything.… Expand

It is a very good album, which unfortunately is only known by the song of "The pretender", combining very well made sounds in the album "In your Honor", where the acoustic and the rock is one only, with songs of good quality, and with promotional videos more than rare (besides "The Pretender" clear) as it is the case of "Come Alive" and "Let It Die", of good quality and other than moved and calm at the same time, being the only song that comes out of this margin "Long Road to Ruin" (because come on, it's a lot more pop than "Cheer Up, Boys (Your Make Up Is Running)", do not **** 8/10… Expand

    the best foo fighters album, a real foo fighters, full of guitar solos in many greatest song like long road to ruin, come alive summer's end, the best foo fighters is brillant

    Echoes feels, in retrospect, a bit of a step backwards for Foo Fighters after the better In Your Honor. This time, the acoustic songs don't match the melodic beauty of "Miracle" and instead just end up being background/supermarket music. Rock-wise, the album too misses the mark "The Pretender" is just like "One By One" in that it tries to change the laws of physics, but overproductionEchoes feels, in retrospect, a bit of a step backwards for Foo Fighters after the better In Your Honor. This time, the acoustic songs don't match the melodic beauty of "Miracle" and instead just end up being background/supermarket music. Rock-wise, the album too misses the mark "The Pretender" is just like "One By One" in that it tries to change the laws of physics, but overproduction stilts the song. "Long Road To Ruin" performs the "Times Like These" role well though, as a tuneful guitar ditty that is easy to enjoy. Again, overall the band sounds too slick and restricted by the studio songs like "Erase/Replace" probably sound a lot more energetic live. As an album band though? Pass on them, sorry.… Expand

    Foo Fighters never stop making great music. This is another example of good rock. One of their best album with some of their greatest songs (The Pretender, Long Road To Ruin, Let It Die). Well Done!

    This is a great album. Is it Foo Fighters' best, hmmm not really, but it is still excellent. The main single and first track - The pretender, will be a classic for years to come. Other gems include the quick rising build-up songs - Let it die, Come alive and But honestly, the casual and catchy - Summer's end and Long road to ruin and the stunningly beautiful acoustic ballad - StrangerThis is a great album. Is it Foo Fighters' best, hmmm not really, but it is still excellent. The main single and first track - The pretender, will be a classic for years to come. Other gems include the quick rising build-up songs - Let it die, Come alive and But honestly, the casual and catchy - Summer's end and Long road to ruin and the stunningly beautiful acoustic ballad - Stranger things have happened.     I'm not a major Foo Fighters fan - appreciate some of their best tracks but overall wouldn't be a favourite of mine, however this is a really good album. Probably the bands most consistent from start to finish.

    This has become one of my favourate albums, especially songs like: "Stranger things have happened" and "Home". Though Im not really pleased with songs like "the Pretender" and "Summers end" because theyre too commercial.

    It doesn't all come together, but it's high points are some of Foo Fighter's most inventive songs to date.

    I want to like the Foo Fighters cos when they write a good song, I am right into it, and when they play live, I am right there with them, but for some reasonthere seems a whole lot of filler here that really could have been culled, but I guess that can be said for the majoriy of the Foos releases.

    By far the most enjoyable and mature album in the Foo Fighter's canon, "Echoes Silence Patience & Grace" has some of the catchiest and rocking songs in "the Pretender" or "Erase/Replace." This is the most complete album by the Foos, and each song seems carefully placed in the album for a reason. "Home" may be the best song Dave Grohl has ever written.     Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace is not the best album ever, but it's not bad either. A good handful of songs in this album. Opens up with the rock anthem "The Pretender" that is easily Foo Fighters heaviest song. Dave Grohl's vocals sound more matured in this album also. All In All, Each song is good, not great, and certainly not bad either. B

    Hey all you 0 raters out there!! Just cause people rate it 10, you can bash them but you turn around and give it a zero? Obviously the cd is not a 10 and obviously its not a 0. I enjoyed the cd, and I thought that while the Foos were not pushing boundries, that doesn't mean its a bad album. ACDC never pushed a boundry in their lives and they're gods. Love Let It Die, of course The Pretender will be hated because its "radio" music, whatever. All you indie people think just cause its popular now its not good anymore. When it wasn't so popular it was great!!! Of course it can't top The Colour and The Shape, I don't think any of their albums ever will it was so good.… Expand

    It's irregular, but still a great rock album. "The Pretender" is energetic and exciting, "Let it Die" is dramatic and vibrating and this goes on to the sixth track. The album could end there.

    Very good accoustic songs on this album, but the heavier songs i believe to be not as good as previous heavy foo songs, all except the pretender, Overall its a good listen! Come Alive is my favourite song.

    It all sound nearly flawless making it an excellent Foo Fighters album, if not the best they've done with a few, slightly shaky tracks spoiling it. Well worth the money.

    The first 3 and last 3 tracks are memorable, but I'm not sure if that's an evolution in the Foos' sound or just the serial positioning effect. Regardless, Dave Grohl has become surprisingly versatile and has impressed this casual Foos fan.

    Decidedly average. If it wasn't Dave Grohl singing and the Foo Fighters playing, you wouldn't listen to half the tracks on this derivative and disappointing album. Looks like they'll never best The Colour And The Shape...

    Overall, very satisfying album. Some really great songs. Favorite of mine is "Let It Die." Classic Foos.

    this album is a different side of the foo fighters, "Stranger Things Have Happened" reminds me so much of the simplistic sound Nirvana had in songs like "Polly" and "Come as you Where"

    A bunch of great songs, and a few ok ones. Not their best album overall, but still much better than most of the garbage that is out there today.

"Let it Die", Cheer up Boys", and "But Honestly" see the Foos doing their trademark heavy but catchy pop rock thing to perfection and "Summers End" and "Statues" rate among their best ballards. However, you can't get away from the fact that the Foos have done all this much better before on C'mon people it's not that bad. Ther's at least 4 or 5 belters on the record. "Let it Die", Cheer up Boys", and "But Honestly" see the Foos doing their trademark heavy but catchy pop rock thing to perfection and "Summers End" and "Statues" rate among their best ballards. However, you can't get away from the fact that the Foos have done all this much better before on their debut and especially The Colour and the Shape and are starting to sound a bit limited and samey.     They're sounding less and less relatable, leaving us pining not just for the days of a little grunge trio from Seattle, but for the relentlessly catchy and charismatic Dave Grohl of the Foos' still-fantastic self-titled debut and the better half of "The Colour and the Shape."
