    The best lyrics among all her albums. She outdid herself. I am glad that she was able to write songs for her arts and not for the charts. So happy to hear the old Taylor Swift vibes. All the songs are relaxing.

    Everything you know and love about Taylor Swift, in a beautiful, matured, yet dreamy album. Somehow Taylor has managed to narrate an equally dreamy yet tragic story, reminiscent of earlier songs such as: Sad, Beautiful, Tragic. In fact, I would say Taylor took everything she did on Sad, Beautiful, Tragic and elevated it, churning a whole album out of it. If you’ve known her long enough,Everything you know and love about Taylor Swift, in a beautiful, matured, yet dreamy album. Somehow Taylor has managed to narrate an equally dreamy yet tragic story, reminiscent of earlier songs such as: Sad, Beautiful, Tragic.     Absolutely beautiful. This album is so unlike her previous work; the songs are subdued, yet emotionally charged. They create descriptive narratives that get more complex and intriguing the more you listen. The nostalgic themes of folklore are ones that will last through decades and eras and are eternalized in their relatability, timelessness, and evocative nature. My fave TS album to date :)

    First half of the album left me speechless and I found the other half needing a little bit more production, but still lovely and amazing overall.
    New perspective upon love and maturity, new topics she approached, love the Teenage Triangle of cardigan, august and betty.
    One must love the return to her country roots. Good work on producing and writing the songs, as usual.
    This alternative album is what was overdue and she managed to pull it off in the greatest way.    … Expand

    It’s very brave of Taylor Swift to go indie even after being a mainstream artist. Taylor made country music mainstream, and it seems like she’s coming to do the honour for indie music as well.
    This album is a total server. Specifically it’s very lyrics oriented, for which Taylor Swift is known for.     These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
