I fell in and out of love with Taylor Swift in the last 10+ years, I loved her first 4 albums and then felt disconnected on the last 3 records. HOWEVER, folklore is a masterpiece, it reminded me of why I fell in love with Taylor. Any old school fan will fall in love with this album. Dare I say her best yet?

Taylor Swift shows herself to be an artist, singer, producer. True complete personality, moreover, it's not just that little girl in the dress who wrote about her relationships on the floor of your bathroom. She let her composing side emerge as a true writer and tell / sing tales of the folklore of her imagination and deliver them to the world in the best way.

The album is only for the fine listeners, only people with proper taste of music would understand that this is Taylor's best album to date. Lyrically and sonically shows a new side of Taylor never discovered before. She combined her past with a new genre, she created a magical place with tranquil instrumentals, she created a story. As a song-writer, I've always admired Taylor's writing and this just made me feel a tad jealous, when you can combine stories to lyrics, that's when you know you're talented. The genre is not my cup of tea, however, I knew the album would grow on me and it did within a few minutes. It takes time to appreciate art, so instead of hating on it right away, try to appreciate it first! Expand

Album of the year by far. The production really makes the lyrics speak to you. It is impossible to sum up how great this album is. To be able to conquer country, pop and now hopefully Alternative is an achievement only the great accomplish. This is what Taylor has done. This album proves how Taylor is able to make risks, and how diverse her music is. Although the genre and production has changed from what she usually releases, one thing that never changes is the impact of her Song writing and especially in this album, her storytelling. Folklore is the perfect album in a time like today. There is no need to make complete pop songs, instead there is nothing better than being able to listen to a song and to be able to visualise what the images the lyrics are implying. This is something that you can always be guaranteed with when you listen to a Taylor Swift song. It is a leap from the pop album Lover, that was released just over 11 months ago. Overall this is a stella album that will forever be remembered as one of, if not Taylors best album Expand

A surprise album at this point her career might come off as a bad idea to many but she doesn’t fail to prove that she only gets better, album by album, era by era and will continue to. This album is one she worked on the least but it doesn’t sound like that at all, she talked about how she’s learned that times are uncertain and you just need to go with the flow sometimes. This album is one she worked on the least but it doesn’t sound like that at all, she talked about how she’s learned that times are uncertain and you just need to go with the flow sometimes. The lyrical talent is overflowing, lyrics like, “…and though I can’t recall your face, I still got love for you. Pack your dolls and a sweater, we’ll move to India forever” and “…and when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone’s bed, you put me on and said I was your favourite”, show the genius Taylor Swift is. She did it again, Taylor rose to the top, per usual. I highly recommend listening to this project. There’s a track for everyone on this project, mine being seven which also happens to be track 7 on the album, coincidence? I don’t think so. I love everything about this album, the vocals are better and more mature than ever, the aesthetics are extremely minimal yet beautiful, the production is beautiful, soft and powerful at the same time. folklore will shine as a glorifying moment on Swift’s discography and is only projected to have success in the coming future. I found a home in this new album. Taylor really knows how to write good and intimate songs. Some of her best lyricism comes from songs like exile and my tears ricochet. This album is filled with nostalgia, love and heartbreak, one of if not the best, albums of her career.

In fact i was worried that tay finished folklore in such a short time would influnence its qulity however proved unnecessary. tay still impresses fans with her fabulous capability of writing lyrics. Besides, she and her teammates made this album a perfect mixture of pop and country. So even if you start to kown her production from 1989 or rep, this album could still capture your favor.InIn fact i was worried that tay finished folklore in such a short time would influnence its qulity however proved unnecessary. tay still impresses fans with her fabulous capability of writing lyrics. It's a sharp turn to the left for Swift and a fine reminder that she is more than just a gleaming pop phenomenon, but a remarkable songwriter too. [Oct 2020, p.36]

A modern-folk masterpiece which finds her moving from her previous pop bangers into stunningly simple yet sharp melodies, ‘folklore’ will be going down in Swiftie history as one of her most unexpected, and undoubtedly one of her best.

These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
