    Personally, it’s the best album of the year. It has a mix of new and old sounds that accomplishes the objective of the album. It’s fresh, has a variety of sounds and lyrics are great. I don’t know how many else album will be released in 2020, but I know none will be as good as Future Nostalgia.

    How have people become so brainwashed by overhyped record labels campaigns? And critics that are payed to write reviews to help sell the artist? It’s just plagiarism everywhere, there’s nothing original about it and they all go out and promote this as if it’s genius. It’s a mix of so many signature sounds from other artists such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, S Club 7, LillyHow have people become so brainwashed by overhyped record labels campaigns? It’s a mix of so many signature sounds from other artists such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, S Club 7, Lilly Allen, Michael Jackson... in every comment on YouTube people say “it reminds me of Rihanna shut up and drive” or “it reminds me of Madonna” I mean... yes it does!! it reminds of everyone but the actual artist that’s releasing the record!! At first I loved the cover, she looks stunning on it and seems really original but then even that is a copy from Madonna 1994 Versace campaign!! The artwork for physical is also copied from Madonna! I mean how come isn’t this out there?? And then this is being branded as some pop bible?? It’s like a CD cover of a bunch of songs. I understand she wouldn’t want to copy New Rules but at least that song/sound is hers!! And not some blatant copy of everything else. Such an obsession to become the next Madonna that there’s no originality whatsoever. And this comes from someone that loved her first album, a lot more authentic in my opinion. It’s mind blowing this is being praised this way and not actually criticized for how much she’s copying everyone else.… Expand

    Dua Lipa managed to bring references from Madonna and Daft Punk in the 80s, I am in love with this work. We were able to see the evolution of Dua Lipa as an artist between his first and his current work in a splendid way.

I always ask myself and try to decide "which is the worst song on the album", but it is impossible for me to decide because all songs have their ups and downs, but they are complete and together they become a beautiful work of art (in this case, a musical work). I hopeFuture Nostalgia really is the album of the year. Dua Lipa managed to bring songs with lyrics, sounds and cohesive vocals. I always ask myself and try to decide "which is the worst song on the album", but it is impossible for me to decide because all songs have their ups and downs, but they are complete and together they become a beautiful work of art (in this case, a musical work).     If I could have any album played at my Funeral, it would be Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia. Every song is unique in its own way. I will be definitely listening to this album in the Future and feel Nostalgic.

    The only reason I haven't given this a perfect score is due to the last two tracks, which personally I feel let the record down. HOWEVER, the rest of the album is incredible.     I did not expect to like this album, at the top of her game and she can dish it out as well as she takes it!
    All of her songwriting is on target and heartfelt. Dance and Pop music makes this a must have for the year.

    Best album of 2020 so far. Not a bad track on the disc. Super fun album. Great dance/pop songs. Makes me wish it was summer already; pool parties with Dua blaring out of the speakers.

It’s a polished update of pop-funk tracks that have not been a stranger to the mainstream top 40 scene since it was birthed. That being said, there are no revelations or experimentations here to look forward toDua Lipa’s sophomore album as much as fans hesitate to make it look like – is a concept album. With such a glossy title, “Future Nostalgia” is exactly what its title describes. It’s a polished update of pop-funk tracks that have not been a stranger to the mainstream top 40 scene since it was birthed. That being said, there are no revelations or experimentations here to look forward to which could be the only defining flaws of this rather great pop album.

    Dua Lipa played her part well using her voice as a vessel for catchy pop songwriting structured behind updated-retro productions. Riding the wave of keeping it short and simple, the 11-tracks of Nostalgia are as cohesive and solid as it gets as not a single track sticks out like a sore thumb.

    We’ve seen this route treaded before by other popular European acts like Kylie Minogue, La Roux, Donkeyboy and Goldfrapp to varied success. What Dua Lipa took a chance on is streamlining and updating the sound and release it at a time where no female pop artist is doing it.

    Honestly, only the cover and some of the titles of the tracks bear some '80s nostalgia. The rest - the songwriting and production - all sounds very modern (and very bland at that, as expected).
    Also, '80s nostalgia would be past nostalgia; in the '00s that was new and fun; in the '10s it was tolerable; now it's long overdue.

    Surely a good pop and dance album, but not the masterpiece that everyone says, not at all. Lyrics are boring and productions sometimes are pretty basic. But hey, that's just her second album and she got the potential to become one of the biggest pop star of this decade.

    FN is one of the best pop records I've ever heard. Literally this album has 0 skips. The title really gives us the perfect explanation of what we can expect from the songs: pop-dance sounds that make us remember the 80's but also make us feel like we're dancing into the future.     Future Nostalgia is totally cohesive and very well worked, one song complete and the other as a symphonic orgy. A Fituristic Pop mixed with Old Pop, a wonderful musical dance to hear. Strong points are "Levitating", "Don't Start Now" and "Hallucinate". "Love Again" is reminiscent of Madonna in the year 2006, a very well done song.

    Um álbum muito bom, porém nada de muito incível. Os três singles (até agora) foram bem escolhidos, break my heart é o mais interessante entre eles.

    I love this album. It's very much an homage to Kylie's 2001 album 'Fever' and Madonna's 2005 album 'Confessions on a Dancefloor'. I'd say there is at most one skipper 'Pretty Please', but that's at push. Very strong album- will be hard to top, mind you I said that about the debut, so anything is possible!

    Make no mistake, her risks are still very within the context of a 4/4 pop structure, but she still finds such color and joy in her surroundings it's hard not to get swept up in her energy. Such risk-staking, however, can still lead to a few moments that could've used a bit more polish.
