Solid album from GC, definitely better than their previous Youth Authority record. Shadowboxer, Leech, Prayer and Better Demons are brilliant.

Not a bad album. I'd probably give it higher but they decided to again sing about California. I'm so sick of songs about LA and/or California.

Good Charlotte know how to write a hit and a hook but their honorable intentions to be memorable fall short.

Good Charlotte have written an album for the modern era: honest, powerful and, most importantly, real. [22 Sep 2018, p.54]

The album's title is a nod to America's addiction to prescription drugs, while the 21st-century pop production gloss of Actual Pain, for example, hides an inner turmoil. [Oct 2018, p.111]
